"how much does it cost to get your teeth fixed?-"

& how come more ppl don't do it?

i remember a part in the movie "whole nine yards" where matthew perry's orthodontist character turns to a slightly gap-toothed michael clarke duncan and says something like "you know i can fix that gap for you, it'd be an in & out procedure"

word?

are there other options besides braces? dental bonding? veneers? crowns? retainer? bands?

is it worth the cost? (are your teeth just gonna naturally separate agn when the braces are removed?)

at what age should one not bother? (how old is too old for braces?)

especially those in corporate practices like Great Expressions that inflate prices and throw in a lot of unnecessary work to inflate the price because they know insurance (hopefully) will cover a good portion of it. And who is the layman to say what they do or don't need once a dentist has taken x-rays and diagnosed?

In terms of price, my g/f spent about $15,000 on her braces and associated work over 2-3 years. She's obsessed with having perfect teeth and opted for the braces that go behind your teeth, but I really think they all took advantage of her. She's still going in for procedures.

Streets won't let me chill.

it varies greatly by region though. i paid it over about 2 years and insurance covered half. after insurance and tax breaks i got from having surgery, other dental work and buying eyegalsses during the same years i paid maybe $35 a month.

I had a beautiful smile...I always thought it was an old wives tale that pregnancy/childbirth take your teeth.

I took calcium/vitamin d in addition to the prenatal vitamins....but I think the 4 months of morning (read: all day) sickness wore away at the enamel of my teeth I lost a total of 4 pre-molars(at least what I think they are called)...I'm strongly considering getting implants...

If I could pull these things off right now I would. Mine were not all for cosmetic purposes.
I had missing teeth in the back and if I don't want the rest to separate and risk getting periodontal disease, braces it was.

I got them tightened yesterday and I've been a bad mood ever since. They cost me $4200, all I have is $200 left to pay on em.
Insurance did not cover a but like $150 dollars of it. Plus I got to the regular dentist for cleanings every three months.

I know I'm bitching now but I will be smiling at everything for no reason after all the pain I'm going through with shit.
I still have a whole year and half to go though. LAWD white jeasus give the strength! Some days I just can't take it.

Had braces as a early teen then got them again as an adult at age 28.

I had them for a little less then 2 years. I'm 32 now and it had to be one of the best decisions I made. Confidence level tripples after, cheesing at everything now lol. Cost be about 2500 after insurance. Do it, it's worth it even with the pain you will have to endure.

problem with my bite due to crowding on my bottom teeth. Dentist scared me with the whole having my teeth fall out at a later age.

I guess I just didn't wear my retainers as a kid, I didn't want to have those things in my mouth while I Tried and failed to get chicks in high school.

2 years back i had 2 root canals, 2 crowns on those teeth, & 3 teeth extracted plus a deep cleaning after that.
shit cost me like $9k.
insurance only covered the first $1500 & i had to handle the rest.
then if i wanted to get braces after it was gonna be about $4k & insurance only covered $1k of that.
it was definitely worth it, im just glad i had the means to pay it all of within a few months.
i can understand why more people dont do it though.

i went to my dentist late last year
he gave me a list of stuff i need to do as a result of dental work i couldn't afford to complete years ago

then i put that amount in this year's flex spending and i'm almost done with the work.

-how big was your gap & how long did you have to wear the invisalign? (all day or just at night?)

i have perfect teeth so i never had to look into it

only difference is you can't get your uncle to fix your mouth for a quarter of the price.

But I am fascinating with perfect teeth and have seriously considered getting mine fixed.

On the other hand I have really full lips and I have to be cheesin' extra hard to even show my teeth, so I wonder if its really worth it, lol.
