Why can't actors portray anyone specifically where race, ancestry or heritage is not the focal point. In this Case the charters race is not an issue nor does it define his heritage or nature.

>And sorry, I don't really get the black Jonny Storm...
A black Johnny Storm is the least of this movie's hurdles....
The FF reboot has to make the public forget about those two cringe-worthy, horrific, bullshit ass Fantastic Four movies that dropped...
I will judge the final product...And on the low, the trailer looks pretty good. But, I'm more concerned about how they are going to approach Doctor Doom this time around. There are reports that they made him into an anti-social programmer....That sounds wack as fuck...
If u can't get D.D. right, the most important villain in Marvel folklore, bitching about a black Johnny Storm seems silly compared to that...
GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

Doom also sounds wack.
I don't know why they have to stray so far away from the source material. Yeah, it's a reboot and they want to distance themselves from the 1st movies, but we deserve a true FF movie.

7. "MBJ, personality-wise, works by far the best for me out of this cast." In response to Reply # 1
Well, except for maybe Toby Kebbell, who also rules.
But MBJ is the perfect Johnny Storm. He basically fits everything I remember from the comics/cartoons growing up, with the exception of skin color.
I have more questions about the white cast members. Although, truthfully, they're all really talented. Their ability to inhabit the characters they're given isn't really my concern.

... that every smart blogger in the world will be searching some combination of "Fantastic Four" "Human Torch" "Johnny Storm" "black" and every derivation of the N-word.
But they probably won't learn before this movie comes out. So we'll get lots of good HuffPo pieces with screengrabs of Twitter racists. GOOD. Get them before they learn that it isn't safe to be racist online anymore.
