He had my mom pinned to the bed with my baby brother trapped beneath her and was beating her so i made a torch out of a palm branch and lighter fluid and set his ass on fire. He lived, but it fucked him up enough that he got the message. Most of the damage came from a Harley Davidson decal that melted into his skin.
He actually got his shit together like 2 years after, got custody of my little brother and never looked back. We wound up having a pretty close relationship later. Sadly, he died of cancer several years ago

He did all kinds of foul shit. He hit my mom with a car, smashed her ankle with a brick, and threw a fucking tricycle through our front window. Thing was, he woke up one day and decided he didn't want to live like that anymore. He decided to cut out the drugs and drinking and my mom never did.
He's the single biggest 180 turnaround I've ever seen and actually stepped in during a few situations. I was placed in foster care in the city he lived in and he made sure I saw my brother as often as possible. Don't get me wrong, he was an insufferable douche bag about a lot of things at that point, but he made genuine changes my mom never did.plus, he gave my brother a stable life and healthy family environment he wouldn't have had without those changes.
