Confession: I hate passive-aggressive behavior and people. I already use most of the tactics they propose and they're pretty effective ways of handling passive-aggressive behavior.

How do you deal with it?

Are you yourself passive-aggressive?

i have a tendency to be passive aggressive myself, so i recognize it in others. i try not to be, and when others are that way i make myself listen to see why they are upset and try to address their concern(s) calmly and rationally without matching the passive aggression. i try to reset the conversational tone and sometimes direction by my example.

Some people aren't very competent at what they do. I'm not going to rat them out to their superiors, but I will clown them to a co-worker.

You got a problem with me, then let it be known. If you want something, there's way to finesse things but I'm not jumping through hoops.

I learned a very valuable lesson about being black in corporate America with that ethos though. These chicks at a job tried to get me fired once.

Let's just say that my upbringing precludes me from being too sensitive in regards to passive-aggressive people's feelings. Passive aggression gets *EDIT*, *EDIT*, and *EDIT*.
