You can definitely feel the potency of good dabs when you smoke it for the first time. It feels like you had just smoked pot for the first time in your life again. It is very powerful and pronounced, nothing at all like a bowl.
Be warned, if the wax looks dark and sparks when you light it, it means the butane has not been removed properly and you are most likely smoking a lot of butane. The implications for inhaling impure dabs is still unknown as there have simply not been enough time to study it. You may also be getting aluminum deposits.
The way honey comb wax is made is by compacting marijuana into a large aluminum or glass tube and running butane liquid through it. The butane liquid strips the marijuana of THC at which point you extract the butane from the butane/thc solution and are left with a golden wax. It should never be green or dark or liquid.
If someone is making their own dabs at home, stay clear of it. Only a lab created product is safe to use. I definitely don't think people should act as guinea pigs for a substance there is still not enough research on, regardless of how good the high is.
To test your dabs, put some on a pin head and light it with a lighter. It should melt and drop as oil with no activity. If it sizzles/cracks/sparks, don't smoke it. It will cause damage to your mouth and throat first and who knows what else.

whether it be butter or honeycomb or shatter or whatever, it should have either kind of a honey, amber or peanut butter type color. no funky ass black or brown bullshit. and yeah if it wilds out when you light it, that's a bad sign.
there is also wax made with CO2 and wax made with nitrogen. They are not very popular because of the higher production cost (particularly of nitrogen). the CO2 ones are the cleanest IMHO, but they can't get *quite* as strong as BHO

Which was fantastic and I loved it. I tried to cop some more and ran into a lot of impure garbage and gave up on it. If you're around Cali you are guaranteed to get some good clean wax. I'll wait a couple of years before I go back to it. For now, good medical bud is enough. I prefer the high CBD strains over the crazy amounts of thc.

You can get some homemade shit that is weak, it'll just give you kind of a head change and make your throat burn.
If you get some stuff that is done properly, you are looking at anywhere between 80 and 95 percent THC.
Did you smoke off a nail piece or out of a pipe (with a wand) or out of a pen? If you get a pen that hits well and keep the top cleared, it will hit you hard but most of them fizzle out. The wand pieces are just OK, I think they are wasteful. A nail is the way to go if you really want to get blasted.
Do you live in CA or a place with medical stuff? If so try some Prime extracts, Crown's pricier stuff is also nice, Turpex has some good stuff and that clear concentrate is also worth a try.
The cost is anywhere between $20 and $100 a gram. I think a gram lasts about as long as an eighth of flower, so on that scale the value is pretty similar. Of course most people just switch to it and start smoking it like they smoked bud, which makes it rather expensive.

you waste the bud that way for sure and you don't get the full effect of the wax.
a pipe with a glass wand is the cheapest way to go. i think a simple nail piece is good.
personally i dont like the whole torch aspect of it and so i prefer the pens. cloud pens work well, they dont burn out super fast. get a cloud pen with a ceramic bowl inside, boom, good to go. works well with the wax, it doesn't require a torch or any additional equipment at all and it's very portable, like an e cig

so pretty comparable in terms of price although if you're buying the $100 stuff it's a little more.
there are places with specials, $100 stuff for $70 or $80, that is the best option IMO, assuming you have the cash.
there is very decent stuff at like $30-$40 a gram but there is also a lot of crap at that price point. hell even some of the stuff i see for $70 is questionable, but most is solid.

so i havent added any real value to this post.
if it was good wax there's no way you would have had that reaction.
since you are dealing with an extract/concentrate its going to be a more technical way of smoking and absolutely feels like some crack shit cause well cocaine is chemical extract/concentrate itself lol.
so anyways the nail torch thing is crazy but a necessary evil until we have little machines that are more efficient at it.
I like titnium nails, especially my vortex but ive been talked into getting a quartz piece(the banger mentioned above)friend is going to some trade show in vegas so gonna do some shopping of me.
you gotta get some legit fire shit for it to make any sense shitty wax is a waste of money and the weed must have been really shitty for the concentration of THC to be 'meh'
for somebody like me a lil bit of wax can last me MONTHS i don't have access to it anymore so i don't fuck with it but if i did i'd save mad money
a lot of people OD on that shit though wrapping their spliffs of exotics in it and stuff i'm not sure how these people function on a daily basis but hey.

it's like smoking three joints at the same time it's dumb and gimmicky you can only get as high as the most potent element of the three so why waste the other two components?
and it's usually with substandard products anyway you not puttin no SUPER BOMB weed with some SUPER BOMB wax and TIGHT keef in it too expensive you'll just do some regular everyday weed, some aight wax and decent keef

i've seen non-chemcial means of extraction (and all the wax i've ever tried has come from that process) so i'm kind of taken aback to know that folks are doing all types of chemical shit to extract (as per the article i posted) the non-chemical means is MAD time consuming so that's probably why people or seeking out shortcuts smh
also i really don't understand the need to light it with a torch (i'm still wtfing @ that) or placing the dab on a nail and smoking it off there (wtf?) when i had some i'd just put a few lil tiny "shards" (we kept them refrigerated so it'd be hard) either in a vaporizer on right at the tip of a spliff i was smoking hit it a couple of times and would be good for the DAY my tolerance is low so i'm a fan of high concentration and having to smoke less to get blazed
but apparently like with many things people are going overboard with it. but there are people in the world who literally smoke 20 blunts a day and i think that's just a waste idk i feel like some weed heads are truly wasting all of their money trying to be snoop dog.
