If kids are inside, it is wise to use the intercom.
Though I know some would say it is making people on the outside feel like they are "dangerous" or "unwelcome" but yeah, it is reasonable that an intercom be used more than opening the door.

Are you assuming this man came to the door saying "I'm a crack dealer running from the cops?" At the time he was let in there was likely no way of immediately knowing what his motives were. They then quickly assessed he did not belong there and he was removed from the facility.
Where is your proof and or evidence that the plan was bullshit?
So far you are just making emotional responses which is fine, just not very sensible and by your logic:
American Airlines fucked up by letting those passengers who they didn't know were terrorists on the plane and guess what? There was no plan once they had.
Harvard fucked up by allowing the unibomber to be a student there and participate in the class experiment that was responsible for his distrust and anger towards universities. Also Harvard had no plan for students who would act adversely to the experiment.

brought up the fact that the city never issued an alert to daycares and schools in the area advising/demanding that they lock down their facilities b/c there's a suspected criminal on the loose who may get violent.
if the alert had been issued then maybe her staff wouldn't have opened the door at all. or maybe they'd have used the intercom. but considering everything was 'business as usual' at the moment as far as the daycare admins and staff knew, they did the right thing.
lol what a douche. I guess inane questions are what they get fed through those ear pieces. Keep asking about the intercom. she got him with Sandy Hook though.

so it's clearly in a high crime area. and so other precautions should be taken that aren't taken at the high end day care facilities. b/c those aren't in high crime neighborhoods.

My niece used to go to a fancy daycare with kidnap bait like ambassador's and oligarch kids and the like...lol. There is no intercom. The door is open and there's only one attendant.
The reporter was trying to indict her on camera. Sure they could have used the intercom but if that's not how they usually operate and they were no given no prior warning to be extra-vigillant, why would they suddenly switch it up?

still wasn't isolated from the kids.
I remember when my son was in daycare...there was an intercom system to get into the building (unsed only if it wasn't peak drop off/pick up hours, i,e 6:30-8 am and 5-6:30pm) and then there's a waiting area thats still doors and a hallway away from the kids.
meaning that even if someone was to get in that they'd still have to get through this and that before they even saw a child. Even as a parent you couldn't get passed this waiting area. What's to say that this place wasn't just as secure.
