"I went to a mega church last sunday. (couple of things)"
politics aside, I totally forgot that the black church is in some ways a big outlet of Black cultures and customs. Its ground zero for some aspects of Blackness.
-It was good to be exposed to that for a second
-The music was fucking amazing. I'm atheist as fuck but I was digging the music and I see how gospel still inspires secular music
-Whats the deal with white folks in black churches? I mean for real "Joan and Robert" types just in the pews chilling. Places of worship are the hardest segregation lines in place so its always a super surprise when I see "Joan and Robert" getting down with the folks.
-Young people (21-35) were NOT really seen. Lots of old ladies and kids but no one in that solid early-mid adult range
-For as much shit we give churches this particular one (Apostolic Church of God - Chicago) is really really about that community outreach. I was actually shocked.
