"Poll question: OKDJs...what kind of headphones are we using?"

I'm looking for a new pair and am curious what other folks are using. Sound quality isn't TOO much of an issue for me, I'm mostly looking for something efficient and durable (I got a big ass head).

I like how everything on the HD25's are modular, everything can be replaced. But I've been using my homie's TMA-1's and really like how those feel, it's light and compact.

I had my MDRs for awhile but the plastic folding part snapped. I figure headphone technology has advanced since I last looked around and want to get into starting a brand new headphone relationship.

Thing is, I always said I'd never buy a pair and would only wear em if they gave them to me...and they finally did two years ago. But they are just extremely light, have a good swivel, and look good (you know image is everything unfortunately). I don't need em to sound amazing since I only use them to DJ. And they HURT after maybe 25-30 minutes of wearing them, along with having a horrible sound bleeding issue if you're in public. But for DJn, they are much lighter than the MDR's and Pioneers I used to wear, but have been durable.

I can use them at home, they are damn near indestructible and do a good job of noise blocking so I can take them on the subway, and they sound great with rap, edm, folk, metal, etc. Put on them velour earpads and you're good to go.

Worth the $200 and then some. I take a portable headphone amp wit me too.

ATH-RE70WH

They sound good danna mofo, but lawd they hurt!

I messed around and got a pair of the House of Marley earbuds at Marshalls for 13 bucks. I'd take the Pepsi challenge against any pair of earbuds by Andre Young anyday of the week.

I remember watching The Incredibles on my laptop with my old JBL's and the sound pouring out of 'em was so powerful I forgot I wasn't in a theater watching it. The bass was deep and loud and explosions sounded very realistic. They were excellent for listening to music akin to sitting in front of a pair of decent mid-range speakers.

... but they hurt like a sonofabitch... They hugged your head soooooo damned tight that they smashed your ears.
