Alright, we shat on a bunch of sacred cows yesterday. Let's highlight local delicacies that might not be on the tourist's radar.

In response to Reply # 0

When people think about chicago-centric comfort food, they usually think about deep-dish or chicago style hot dogs, but the Italian beef sammich with giardinera is easily one of the best sammiches in the US.

Now that Al's bullshit that is all over the country looks nasty as shyt, but yeah it's some real good Italian Beef. I like the pulled pork and similarly simmered beef sandwiches we got in Philly, but the Chicago ones have their own style that seems tough to duplicate.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

I live here, have eaten them my entire life and still never got sick of them. Boston should have a bigger reputation for these things. Get it 3-way (cheese, mayo, bbq sauce) and you'll want 10 more.

Kelly's is definitely an "example" of North Shore roast beef and probably the most known name for tourists and people outside the city, but yea there are many better places for this style of roast beef. Harrison's is good, Giovanni's has a good one. Liberty Bell in Southie (which just closed, but I know they have a location elsewhere just not sure where) is excellent...etc. Brother's in Quincy is really good, too. Most of the mom and pop joints are the best places for this kind of beef. But Kelly's isn't bad, by any means. Just doesn't rank high on my list.

Almost ANY local breakfast spot really...

DVS knows what's up with Bro. Juniper's lol, and just tried out City East Bagels last month and definitely will be going again soon, and Renee's Sandwich Shop downtown, has always been my spot for something quick and good.

In response to Reply # 0

After living in Tampa almost ten years I did not realize that deviled crabs were just a Tampa thing! Lol

Basically it's a breaded ball of crab meat, peppers, and spices. It's so damn good!! I usually get mine from a place called Brocato's, which is a well known sandwich spot.

Tampa really does have a great food.

And Tampa really does have great eating options

Because that's where my folks are from. They were born & raised there. They lived in Tampa later on in life. If I remember, I'll ask my Mom where she picked them up.

Although it wouldn't be crazy for something like that to migrate up the coast.

I really, really love 3D's on Linden even though the customer service is TRASH AND A HALF.

But I eff up their curry chicken and oxtail everytime I go. One day I'll stop giving my money to them. Just not soon lol

Never been to Rowe's.
