"How to make an extra $1000 a month"

ionno, give me some ideas? This isn't just for me, this is for the board. I'm sure we could all use more money so give up the goods on how you save/generate money.

a second gig is the obvious idea but anyone have some weird ways of making money we don't know about that don't involve selling your soul?

secret shopper, online surveys, etc???

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

someone said they buy all their paper towels, toothpaste, laundry detergent on amazon.

I haven't researched it but I bet it saves a ton because we rarely go to the store and just pick up what we need.

I'm looking at changing from Verizon to Tmobile but I'm scared...lol.

at a friend's store now too. But the new thing is to use instagram. If she has 1-5000 friends like my sister and all her little friends then she can just put up one photo of a piece of clothing on instagram from her smpart phone, the price, tag it #instashop #instastyle and sell to her friensd and whoever else winds up following. that's the new thing. people just put their email and you do it all through paypal invoice.

*shrug*

you gotta invest some money in the licensing...some more to get your brokerage situation set up...lets say you ultimately spend abt 2500.

well from that point forward your income is you dependent. if you hustle...you can clear 1k a month i think pretty easy.

thats just doing leasing/rental...fuck around & be a buyer agent on a home sale or a listing agent & you'd make 3-4x that depending on where you are

have *I* done that? no. but i also havent honestly gone hard to do so...& w/o trying i made a lil under that in december. like...stepped in, showed a few places & bam.

its not "asy" per se...but it aint hard

invest in some stock too

does it really matter?

u feel like investing in it a bit...

u have to buy the parts wholesale in order to have any legit income/turnaround

u have to have an inventory of parts...

and if youre a beginner...it's time-consuming and may take u about a dozen fixes before you get the hang of it

people's expectations

kiosk price point competition

abundance of shitty non-oem part availability combined with PRICEY OEM parts

need for inventory for quick enough turnaround

all these factors really start to zap the profit from it

i see how the girl selling used clothes makes her profit but i can't get how the guy buying 7 jeans from the outlet is making any money. his mark-up ain't that much. plus he be traveling to get them. they must cut him a serious discount for buying in volume. but can a regular outlet store authorize those kinda discounts?

sites like trymyui.com and usertesting.com will pay you from $3-$40 (or more) to test website or application usability for their clients.

I do it periodically. Not nearly as often as I used to, but enough. Seeing an extra $25-$30 in my Paypal account every few days is nice.

In response to Reply # 38

... You're paid differently for mobile test vs desktop tests. It takes a few good tests on the desktop side before you're invited for mobile testing, but the difference is $3-$10 for the typical desktop test versus $15 for *every* mobile test. Also, once you get approved for mobile testing they'll ship an IPEVO webcam on an adjustable pedestal, free of charge, to record your mobile tests with.

The one caveat for all tests: Most tests except for the $3 joints require you to pass a "screener" test. The screeners make sure you're part of the demographic they're targeting. I've answered them the way they want just to get to take the better paying tests, BUT be honest on the screener tests that ask for your location: They can check to see if you're really where you say you're from (there's ways around that too but it's too convoluted to do).

As it progresses, you'll get asked to participate in focus groups. Those can pay $40+ for a session. I've done a few focus groups for them.

In response to Reply # 0

I've worked for two of the larger companies that do this, but basically you get sent web search results from one of the larger search engines and are tasked with evaluating the relevance of the results to the query. There's a lot to learn especially since the two biggest search engines have slightly different guidelines, but once you get the hang of it you can get through it quickly.

Pay is usually $13.50/hr. The company I recommend going through is Leapforce because it's the only one I know of that allows you to be completely flexible with your hours. You need a minimum of 10 per week and can go up to 40 a week.

https://www.leapforceathome.com/

Appen, Lionbridge, and iSoftStone are a few other companies that do this. I've worked for Leapforce and Appen in the past.

Cause it be like that sometimes...

My thing is going to estates sales and flipping shit on eBay. I prefer media because I still collect media and have the knowledge to know what's valuable: books, zines, CDs, tapes and records. Obviously, I focus more on rare or hard-to-find sh*t.

Examples of some real flips:
Found a SIGNED copy of Aretha Franklin's first bio with David Ritz (not the second, juicier book he published against her wishes. LOL) for $3 and flipped it for almost $100.

Found some random first edition Iceberg Slim paperback for $0.50 and got $75 for it within 24 hours. The starting price for that book was about $100+ among other sellers on major sites but I listed it for $75 so it would sell quickly...

Copped it Joe Henderson's Page One LP in "VG+" condition for a couple bucks and earned $600 for it via auction. It was painful to let it go...

I could go on but y'all get the drift...

Obviously there's an initial outlay in equipment costs.

But if you're in a major city it's absurdly easy to book gigs in my experience. People literally stop me on the street when I'm walking around with my camera.

I copped a pro-level camera just to shoot family and ended up investing in good lenses when it became clear it was a viable side gig.

While I know there is a huge market for photography I don’t want to deal with the demands of “make me look hot b”

I have a huge catalog of scenic photos I need to retouch and try and sell

I also have a bunch of old hip hop photos of random groups performing that I need to do something with.

A photo of Jay sitting on his Benz after a label show he did at BET waaay back before he blew. Fugees, Big Pun, Heiro, The Liks, Dan the Automator, Mos, etc. I got rolls of film I still need to get developed from college of a ton of hip hop heads. I’m going to tackle that this weekend and put a little boom together.

This could be fun.
