I've been thinking... I could reference a couple things and maybe get this post blown away but I really would like to have a dialogue on this. So you know how we're supposed to be living together, striving to peacefully coexist, raise the next generation, and keep society spinning? How does one being an asshole achieve any of that? Sure, it might earn coarse laughs, grab the eye of the chick with the low self esteem, or even earn you a hi five from some other douche, but is it productive?
Most assholes are people who lack sincerity and key social skills and while that may be fun to watch in any action flick, the asshole is almost definitely the dude that dies so awesomely in any horror film. Like every single one.
I just don't see the point in it and while it may be a trait within all of us I don't really understand how it serves me. And I'll probably try to squash it every time in hopes if maybe we all squashed the asshole inside of us, the world would be a better place...

In fact, Rush Limbaugh is glad to let people like me know that he's going to ruffle my feathers. He's a multi-millionaire (despite that recent Rx pills situation) for telling people like me he's going to offend my kind.

i don't really like having assholes around me but i do and i take them in doses and if i encounter one professionally i can get down and dirty too but it's not preferable
but as much as some of us fancy ourselves to be 'nice', someone thinks we are an asshole.

which makes me feel not good but depending on the person, i kinda do take a secret pride in it not because i like being that way but because i let them know i wasn't going to tolerate certain things
i definitely try to be nice and helpful and look out for others but im sure you can gather a small army of folks who think the opposite of me i just have to keep living and trying to right wrongs if i can and be a better person

People will take the role. HOWEVER...

It's not productive in most cases. However, if you're negotiating in business matters, sometimes you need someone with "asshole" tendencies. We could describe it as "no nonsense". But you need someone who cuts through the bullshit and asks "what's in it for me/my client", as an "asshole" is usually someone who cares about themselves and no one else... imo, anyway. People who say mean-spirited shit to/about people for no reason are just degenerates.

you can definitely be polite and sincere, but if you're going to skimp on one or the other (and people regularly do) i'd rather you skimp on politeness.

If you got a person who cares but has no tact chances are for example they might say to you
"Hey you fat fuck, hurry up we are going to be late or you scaring away the hoes"
Now you might be thinking this person is being an asshole but if you look behind the lines. If this is a true friend they are concerned abotu your health and want you to meet a nice girl.
An asshole is gonna say the same thing but they are only thinking about themselves in that instance. It should be easy to tell the differnce between the two.

Most of'em have absolutely no depth, and are great at making money for themselves at the expense of the blood pressure of their audience and the humanity of their targets.
It's no accident that damn near all well known media "assholes" are wealthy white men in the US, Europe, or Australia. Their "truth-telling" usually is about as deep as a high schooler's idea of anything
