"Hypothetical: You and Your SO Receive a Lovely Gift Basket" Mon Jan-05-15 11:38 AM by veritas
This gift basket contains 5 different types of gourmet snack foods.
Item 1 is your favorite of the group, but your SO despises it or will not eat it due to a dietary restriction.
Item 2 is your SO's absolute favorite, to the point that friends and co-workers sometimes give him/her this specific item as a small gift because they know how much he/she loves it. Item 2 is also your 2nd favorite food contained in the basket.
Item 3 neither of you particularly care for, but will eat. It's the proverbial orange Starburst.
Item 4 is your third favorite food of the group, but your SO doesn't care for it. He/she will eat it, but you know they don't like it very much.
Item 5 is your SO's 2nd favorite of the group, but you are ambivalent. You don't really like it, but you don't dislike it either.
In which order do you eat the snacks? Obviously there will be some variance based on your taste at a given moment, but overall, in which order would you eat the snacks until each individual item was gone? And why?

I think the further you get into the basket, the more likely that your SO will eat less, which will increase your share of the stuff that you actually like.

the rest don't matter.

but hit already, and trying to hit.
Married - is going straight to item 2 unmarried but hit already - would be content with a small portion of number 2 trying to hit - is feeding her all of number 2 while rubbing her feet.

I'd eat item 1 without any limits. I wouldn't ask or consider her at all if I wanted it due to her dietary restriction.
Item 2 is her thing. I wouldn't eat any of that unless she offered it to me. Since I get all of item 1, I feel it's fair to let her take all of item 2.
Item 3 is a free-for-all. Either of us should be able to go for this one without regard for anyone else.
Item 4 is same as item 1. If she doesn't like it, I don't feel bad going for broke.
Item 5 is hers too. If I really don't care that much, then she can have it. Plus it's her 2nd favorite.
Generally, we offer each other our goodies even if we know it's not the other's favorite. And if it's something that I kinda like but she absolutely loves, I may take a bite. But I'd let her have free reign over it.
I think they way this will go down is gonna be different for different couples based on their personalities, chemistry and the way they deal with each other. But the answers could be an interesting insight into how we view our relationships.

And I don't think there's a wrong answer unless you say something like "eat all of 2 before she even finds out we got this gift." Then you're almost definitely an asshole.

starting with 4 or 3 is interchangeable, we can split those up evenly 1 is last because save the best for last in my mind. she's probably gonna eat all of 2 before I get to it but that's cool because i still have my favorite to fall back on.
