When I'm in Whole Foods and muhfuckas ask me shit like I work there.
Now, there's the side of me that doesn't want to get offended because I know a few people who work at WF and they got good gigs, it allows them flexibility to pursue some of their other passions, and more than once they've hooked a nigga up with a little extra on the seafood or the hot bar. People that work there are cool with me.
BUT...
I still take issue with folks just walking up on me asking where the muhfuckin cumin is because I'm wearing a hoodie and some jeans.
This is that grown-up shit I stay tacking and trying to resolve with myself. Like, if I was white and similarly attired, would I get that shit? But if I was white, would I mind?
I'on't know.
But for now, I'mma just ruminate on sending the white lady off today with the wrong directions for baking powder.
Like I said, I got no quarrel with the folks that do work there. I got friends that work there, it's a good place to work...
BUT...
I'm a trained professional in a specific line of work where I am respected and have a certain level of responsibility that earns me a decent living.
I'm not diminishing anyone's work, but you wouldn't just walk up to any white woman at Nordstrom and ask where the size 8s are so I don't want folks coming up to me looking for the cold cuts.

You're saying Whole Foods workers aren't respected, have any responsibility or earn a decent living. You're being condescending as if being a Whole Foods worker would be beneath you. But now, if yo got mistaken for an airline pilot or a physician as you walked around a hospital I doubt you'd object as much.

I'm not mad at anyone who is working and getting an honest buck. I'm not treating the folks at Whole Foods like they aren't working as hard (if not harder) than me.
What I am saying is, I feel like the interactions between the white folks at the store and black folks in general is in a service capacity and I should be more specific as to say that I don't like it when white folks assume black folks are there to serve them in some way.

i had a three mins convo with this white chick outside of the strip club (i was walkin in and her group was walking out) she kept asking me where the white girls was at and i was like across the street on the corner she was like i went there and they said they didn't have any i was like no, not THIS side of the street (which is V-Live) but across the street from there is a club called Platinum and they got all white girls
