She went out of town for the weekend and came back Monday. Had the day off Monday so I was at the same position as when she left Friday. She got pissed and was like you ain't do nothing at all?! I just ice grilled her. Later on she realized that that was the first PTO day I took in 3 months. Told her straight up I'm not moving unless I have to. She couldn't say shit after that

maybe im too carefree. i could leave for dallas on friday with a sink fulla dishes and shit all over the living room. come back monday with same dishes but more piled in the kitchen, same shit in the living room, and find wife in same position on the couch and i wouldnt even bat an eye
like that wouldnt even cross my mind
but now if she came at ME asking me to clean the kitchen i might have words for her like, "you couldnt do that shit while i was gone for three days?"
of course, if she sick or some shit and have extenuating circumstances i'd understand

arguments like the one in the OP probably have more to do with a particular scenario then an actual "rule". if dude is unemployed and supposed to be out looking for work and he's still lampin when she got home...or maybe he's been promising to do yardwork, fix some shit, clean up...etc. and if these things are continually happening...that's probably the kind of thing that causes that sorta beef. i doubt it's just because he decided to hang out on the couch for one day...unless she's batshit crazy.

when they walk through that door your butt needs to not be in bed or laying down. I don't care if you slept or played video games all day when 6 o clock rolls around and she about to come home jump up and act like you been doing something all day.
I had my little brother and his friend stay with me for their college winter break and my wife was ready to kick them out because them dudes were up in here sleeping until 12PM. SMH.

Well, I have a kid. And, me sitting at home not doing sh*t is not an option. Unless I spent the whole day playing with the wee one, I still have to make sure lunch is ready for the next day and that the kitchen is clean. And, that's at the least.
Hell, I can even use my ADD/ADHD as an excuse and it would still be unacceptable for me to sit around and not do sh*t unless I am on a vacation.

If she wastes time, or does whatever that's on her. I have my own house and appreciate the autonomy - so the buck stops with me on how my time is spent. I'm a pretty productive person though, so the free time I do have is usually accounted for in some way.
