to summarize: natives had been fought & pushed to reservations in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Whites discovered gold on these lands & broke every treaty & forced the natives onto even worse land.
a peaceful native preacher had a vision of the ghost dance...which would bring the buffalo back & make the white man disappear
