1. rapheal saddiq >>> dangelo.
im a big dangelo fan. hes talented & all that. but from a pure musical/artistic standpoint? saddiq. sorry. i will grant dangelo has his own inimitable "sound" while saddiq is more...accessible & does not. other than that tho. yeah.
2. im going to see exodus. white people want to see white people on the screen. just like black people wanna see black people on the screen. ill buy a tkt to some other movie & sneak into exodus
3. is it too over the top n-wordy to buy amazon prime for the free shipping...get the stuff i wanted shipped then cancel the amazon prime?

get me wrong but it's not hitting me like Voodoo. I'm at an age where I can appreciate artistic integrity and yada yada but I *BOUGHT* the album listened to it while at work like everyone else did the following day...
Then I listened to Al Green's greatest hits and realized that I should be able to sing along with a supposed great album. I want my great artist to make music I can sing along to. This D'angelo album has me at my desk mumbling along to it makin' folks that aren't in the know to believe that I'm humming slave chants and spirituals at my desk. (I work around mid 40-ish non blacks that likely think I'm starting some personal Ferguson protest)
But I know the D'angelo album is good or rather I want to believe it's good based on all of the live shows I've seen on youtube the past two years (i.e., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgcmRnxoDag)or perhaps I just wanna fall in the trap of believing it's good because I just wanted some released material from him. I really think this album has to be seen performed rather than listened to thru headphones etc.
So yeah at this point, I gotta agree with you on Saddiq.

on the praise. I never was into the whole D'angelo cult following and was ready to hate on this album. I think it's a good album. but I don't think it's great as people making it out to be.
bae is a cop so im on the other side of the fence all this stuff bothers me because at the end of the day they are husbands/ wives/ fathers/ mothers and someone wants them to come home at the end of their shift
so for me all this stuff is sad and bad all around
my cousin is a cop and that's my dude. so it's hard to be like "FTP" when i'm talking about somebody that has been my best friend for 35 years. i'd like to think that he's one of the good ones. we used to have conversations on black cop/white cop/black community relations and i would like to think that he has a different mindset and he's really out there doing his job of trying to keep the community safe and clean up the streets and not go hard at mfers just because of their race, environment, etc. but since the protests have been happening we don't bring up his job.
and very knowledgable im always asking him questions so it just frustrating to see people say f the police because at the end of the day you dont mean all

D'Angelo has had better works, but Saadiq is my favorite artist, if that makes any sense.

what? white people wanna see white people at the expense of history. when we get the story of the American Revolution with an all Black cast, then i'll understand what you said. until then...its bogus.
>5. 1000 deaths = best song on the album
lol. its the only song i skip. --------------------------------------- it's true what they say...people are strange, when you're strangers.
