"Has Walmart ever stolen from you?"
Wed Dec-17-14 12:12 AM by Doronmonkflake

I thought about this in the thread about the walmart shoplifter shooting. The point was raised that Walmart has a right to defend their merchandise.

Fine. But, on more than one occasion, I have shopped at Walmart and bought like a cartful of stuff and got home to see a bag missing. That I paid for. And then I have to drive back and get my stuff because they don't hand you bags. They fill them in that little carousel and spin it. It's up to you to really pay attention and make sure you got everything you paid for. I've never seen it anywhere else.

I thought it was just me, so I looked it up.

http://downloadpolitics.com/showthread.php?6954-WALMART-THE-BAG-CAROUSEL-MISSING-ITEMS-PISSED-OFF

http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/walmart/tahlequah-oklahoma-74464/walmart-purchased-items-left-on-carousel-again-tahlequah-oklahoma-614141

So if it happens to me and this lady more than once, extrapolate how many times a day Walmart just gets a straight up cash donation in their millions upon millions of sales and restocks the merchandise with the consumer none the wiser? In big states with small towns, 50-60 miles apart sometimes. Not everybody is gonna go back.

And then I found this. K-Mart tried to get in on this little cash grab and Walmart got pissy and sued.

and I swear I've seen it in some krogers.

I've never left a bag in it though, I don't go to wal-mart like that though.

at meijer, they usually turn it all the way around after you take the bag out to make sure you didn't leave anything.

I've stepped inside one twice in my life. Once to pick up a money gram cause there was absolutely no other place in bumfuck Hobbsville, NC to pick one up.
And another with a friend and I refused to even look at anything. With all we know about Walmart and their disgusting practices, I can't believe people still willingly shop there.
I will pay triple before I ever give them my money. If I lived in a town with only a Walmart, I'd order everything online and grow my food in the backyard. NEVER.

But it's rare now. Cheap electronics and weights sometimes, that's it.

For a second I had to choose between them and a C-Town with lukewarm meats and ancient produce.

Main reason I hate shopping there. They bag your shit and leave it sitting in the carousel, don't even spin it around, then start ringing up and bagging the next customer before you can even grab your stuff. They are supposed to remove your bags from the carousel and place them on the platform in the center, but they never do. I bought three items once and the cashier put them in two separate bags. Didn't realize until I got home and was hot, even though it's right down the street.

I don't believe in luck, I believe in Jesus...(c)Farnsworth Bentley

They have a 3 sided carousel with spaces for 6 bags. At any moment, 2/3 of your purchases are obscured from your view while you fend for yourself and they rush you.

I know this is by design. And I've never heard it mentioned in any meaningful way. I wonder what kind of money they're picking up in a day from this.

I have missed a bag but I never had a problem getting whatever I bought that didn't make it to my car.

I have probably lost more shit at regular grocery stores than Walmart.

More than 50% of the company is owned by the 6 Walton Heirs and their collective wealth is about 140B making them the richest family in the country. Collectively, these six Waltons have more wealth than 49 million American families combined.

They've become the richest family in the country by being the largest employers of minimum wage workers. They have a work force of 1.4M people and are the largest recipients of medicaid and other welfare benefits.

And let's not talk about the tax breaks they receive.

We are in essence subsidizing the wealth creation of the richest family in the world.

and TWICE i saw people leave bags on that fucking carousel thing lol

it's a bad system and the fact that most of their checkers family tree has a lot of tangled branches doesn't help matters. i have seen six of the ten dumbest looks i've ever seen from wal mart checkers. whew, they make fast food employees look like astrophysicists

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Why are you ridin so hard for these people?

No, I don't leave stuff in stores all the time. Because other stores have a conveyor belt that ends in a pile of visible stuff. And if it isn't cleared out, the cashier and I both notice. It isn't spun away from view.

Also, what portion of the daily Walmart consumer base do you think is represented here in this thread? In that infinitesimal sampling, there is anecdotal evidence of the occurrence from 3 of the people posting. And one occurred since I made the post.

Extrapolate. Like Initech in Office Space, even one item costing pennies being left behind thousands of times a day means Walmart is just taking money without handing over merchandise, in addition to paying slave wages, busting unions and choking the cash flow to the local economy.

I'm gonna stop buying there. This thread has convinced me.
