Just watched it last night for the first time and years, its one of the first movies I remember seeing and constantly watching as a kid. and watching this last night made everything thats been happening in the news recently it finally hit me.
and it hit me hard.
I burned through the tape pretty fast and soon found out its out of print and pretty hard to find (wonder why)
What was the overall consensus of this film. What was the reception? Where does it stand now?

One of my favorite quotes was
White Cop: Is that gun loaded, son? Huey P. Newton: It wasn't, but now it is...PIG! *cocks rifle*
I had the soundtrack on tape too. There was a song on it "The Points" that had like 10+ of the hottest rappers on it at the time. They played the video non-stop on The Box.

..as explained by him during a lecture back at my school in Philly. He taught at Temple for a lot of years and his basic premise was not letting Hollywood gas you on some over-dramatization shit. Said that he understood the draw but the file was about %50 factual. The side story with Kadeem Hardison's character was bullshit, which I could see.
I thought it was an aight flick...just maybe a little cheesy in some parts.
