but I'm in this camp as well. I don't want to run the risk of having a hard drive crash or lose a cell phone/SD card and have no other options to hear my music. It is remarkable how many chains have closed over the years, but I get it since streaming and high bandwidths are ubiquitous now.

Today. I ordered D'Angelo And The Vanguard from Amoeba BEFORE I found out Best Buy had them. (Forehead smack) CD's are my preference. I like liner notes and artwork. A lot of albums (including D'Angelo) on iTunes have no digital booklet and that's just not gonna cut it for me. I'll buy albums on CD as long as they make them.

Ordered that shit to be sent to me in the mail cause I couldn't find it in stores anywhere.
I have the same struggle as the folks above talking about "I like having the physical album" and "where the fuck do I put it all??"...and it took me a while to finally get comfortable with just having an iPod with a ton of music on it. Then as soon as I came around on that Spotify came around and threw me for another fucking loop. So I finally got with the times then the times changed again and here I am with the discontinued 160GB iPod Classic with my friends laughing at me haha. Oh well.
i still remember walking in the store, no longer in business, one of those chains... and buying it while on my *lunch break*...it was a walk over in the plaza from the stop i had to run to at the time.
