"More Diversity in The Business of Professional Sports: #CheraytoCincy" Mon Dec-15-14 05:10 PM by CyrenYoung
Greetings yall. I hope yall are doing well and everybody's staying sane....as sane as possible.
Anywhoo I won this really dope scholarship to attend national sports conference in February and I'm seeking donations to cover some of the costs. I know I haven't been around in a while and it's the holiday season, but if you guys could donate anything I'd really really appreciate it. Link here: http://www.gofundme.com/is054c
1: Minorities, especially black women, are vastly under-represented in the front office of professional sports teams. The NSF is the creme dela creme gathering of sports professionals in the country and costs $1500 just to attend. To get a scholarship to attend gives Cheray access to C-level executives in the front offices of teams and agencies and the opportunity to grow her career.
2: I've been to NSF 3 times... when you look around the room... it's a sea of white faces. This is an opportunity to add more color to the room.
3: I was a member of the 1st BDSE cohort back in 2013. It opened SO MANY doors for me. I definitely wouldn't be in the position I am in now if I hadn't participated.
-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Obviously I've never won much before nor asked for anything before and I didn't include any of that info in the gofundme page either. Thanks Cyren and VE you know I owe you the world

Like I said in CW, this is EASILY the biggest opportunity in my professional career so far. And the love I've received has been amazing. And I HATE asking for anything so this is hard for me, but again I'm so so appreciative.
*edit* normally your organization covers the cost of travel/hotel, but not mine, so yea I been hustling lol
