My wife and I are Snapfinger/Towers alum and many of the folks I came up with still live in that area and have kids at every school involved. So, I've was following the play-by-play all morning.

Luckily, my kid's school is just outside of the hot zone.

to get mine to school. there were a thousand cops cars when I was trying to get there.

shit freaks you out. luckily everything has quieted down.

My mother still lived there up until her passing last year. I had the opportunity to buy that house...nope.

Folks have asked me, "Wouldn't you want your son to follow in your footsteps at Towers?"

finished at towers and her sister goes there now I think. neither have ever said a good thing about it.

mine are still relatively small and go to dekalb prep. so far so good for mine. can't vouch for others tho. I do wish I could afford to get somewhere else. at least to north dekalb. dunwoody or somewhere.

Right now Avondale residents are zoned for Druid Hills High, which is 3 yeaars away for us. However, all this current cityhood and annexation talk may result in Druid Hills becoming a City of Atlanta school. That leaves the closest high school to us being Clarkston or Towers...nope.

So once all this shakes out, we might be headed to Downtown Decatur, or out to Tucker.
