"How many people here have "grown up" and changed?"
How many people here have "grown up" and changed / modified their thinking or positions on alot of issues, to the point that they actually start understanding what some of their elders was harping on about certain issues? I have.

Someone I used to mess with & is way more of a friend than anything now, but we didn't start that way. She saw I was in town and wanted to link up. It ate at me a bit. A couple years ago I brought my lady to Texas for the first time, it was my birthday and I invited pretty much everyone I knew. She was one of the people that didn't show up but aimed to try to get us to divert plans to hang out with her. I don't really divert plans for other people, let alone on my birthday weekend. Anyways, I passed on hanging out. I'll see her at an event with friends later this weekend. But aside from people that I've KNOWN for years, I'm not comfortable meeting up with women my lady hasn't met.
That did not at all used to be the case.

you hate young ppl's music and fashion choices because you are old. those entitled youth skip from job to job because the job market is terrible, at least in part because of decisions made by the generation before us.
things adults told me:
"you need to know the Pythagorean Theorem. Not just for the test. You use it everyday life." (i have never in my life used the Pythagorean Theorem in real life after leaving school. That was a lie.)"
"Once you get to the real world, you'll understand why it's important to go to church. These are lessons you can't get any other place." (again, not true.)
etc.
i am not judging adults here. they didn't have answers then and i don't have them now.
but some of the shit some adults said to me was wrong. the adults i respected most would explain things they got and admit when they didn't know.
the ppl that tried to get me to view the world in black and white were wrong then, and they are wrong today.

Like stuff relating to interpersonal relationships (love, sex, friendship, office politics, etc).
I think you need a little bit of experience and maturity to understand things like that so "You'll understand when you're an adult" is sometimes appropriate.
Why are mom and dad always arguing? Why don't cousin's dad and mom get married? Why don't we hang out with grandma?

for example, i often had my crushes dismissed as "puppy love." yes, love has many levels. some are beyond the comprehension of a child.
but infatuation IS very much a part of love, and that doesn't go away as you get older.
i disagree when adults tell me that infatuation/ lust is an insignificant part of love.
that don't make sense to me.
the why do mom and dad argue is a bit heavy, sure. and i understand it more now.
so maybe there's something to that line sometimes. but i never asked that question.

Some things are blatant "you bat shit crazy telling me that" but there are some things that you are like "you just skurred that's why you telling me that" but later on down the line, you see the wisdom in what they was instructing.
