McCartney. Just realized last week that that's him. I wanted to make a post last week but figured it wasn't worth it.
Anytime I caught it on the radio I'd listen and think "I really like this song, I wonder who it is.". Then last week I separated the voice from the music and it hit me. Now it's like how could I not know but before I would hear the music and the voice was more or less background. Yeah late pass.

No individual classics (though it's my favorite Jingle Bells R&B cover ever), but it's a perfect album to put on for a drive or during the opening of presents. So pleasant, so smooth, so Al.

on the way to my sons hockey game. Carpooling with my inlaws. We were talking christmas music. I brought up that song and my wife and father inlaw looked at me like I was nuts. But then my mother inlaw jumped in like YES YES YES YES! I love that song but always forget the name. Thats my favorite christmas song!!! Such a good song.

i wonder why?
probably b/c the version most of us know is the 'remix' which was found on the group's debut album and had most of the Xmas references changed.
and even the original version (the one i posted in reply #31) isn't much of a Xmas song. it's a good song and i like it but when making a list of the most popular Xmas songs in Black America (as it seems we are here in this post) i'm not putting that one very high on the list.

in my experience it hasn't overtaken 'This Xmas', 'Silent Night', 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town', 'What Xmas Means to Me' or 'All I Want For Xmas Is You' in popularity among Blacks. not yet. but it's definitely one of the 10 Xmas joints i hear most often around Blacks during the season.
