Disgust me.
Here's why:

If you grew up in that shit, with those being the only rules you have ever known, and it was passed on by their family, I understand why ppl hold onto those beliefs. I don't give them a pass, but I get it.

But if you had one religion and then switch, or grew up religious-less, you had to have done some research. Somewhere down the line you read some shit and said yeah, this makes sense to me. You brain just proved it has the capacity for change.

And if you go ahead with your new answers in life, and discriminate against those who go against your newfound teachings, or say I don't agree with that, it ain't no excuse. You just believe some shit cuz you were told it or read it and it sounded good as an adult.

by "catholic" I mean the traditional latino catholic that's just passed down from parents that nobody really cares about except for baptisms, weddings, and funerals

then in HS got into brand nubian, PRT, wu, all the standard 5 % rappers and then went full fledged God body

even got the universal flag tattoo

some years later, and I don't know exactly how since we drifted apart, he got into santeria. The last time I went to his crib he had the little altar in a corner with the beads, statue, and whatnot

I guess he came back full circle cuz santeria= catholicism for latinos

it's wild to me cuz 5 % is all about do for self, i self lord and master, no mystery spook, and santeria is highly spiritual, spirits control everything, you must pay homage to them, etc

but i'ma let your boy cook though...

Not to mention a hugely wilful act of ignorance to claim that you can be sure you're 100% right THIS time.

You just have to hope that new converts grow out of it. Many don't though. More is the pity.
