We've always been more Funk than Soul in L.A, so if anything at a BBQ or party, we would heat Cutie Pie, Outstanding, Mr. Groove, Flashlight. It always sounded weird hearing it at FAMU parties, especially after Khia, Lil Jon, 50 Cent, and Trick Daddy ruled the night. But we got used to it, and it became our shitt.
And I swear L.A. didn't start playing it until 5-6 years ago.
