yeah, this is one conspiracy I rock with. How the fuck did we go there back in the day yet with all this new tech we still struggle to build a ship who can get there in 2024?

There's a 0% chance all the people who would've had to be involved in a conspiracy like this would've kept their mouths shut the rest of their lives.

but unlike most modern conspiracy theories, it's a fun one to theorize and mostly harmless aside from discrediting all the risks people involved took to make it happen, namely the astronauts.
So for that I am pro-we faked the moon landing conspiracy, even though I don't believe it to have any chance to be true.
Give me more "we faked the moon landing" or "birds aren't real" and less "government officials are podophiles and meet at this pizza shop" or anything QAnon related.

Even if you (wrongly) believe that everyone at NASA, the government, (and their loved ones and whoever else they may have told), etc. would stay quiet about this for the rest of their lives, you'd be crazy to think that Russia wouldn't have done any and everything in its power to put us on blast globally if they had even a single shred of evidence suggesting this was faked.

It's going to be way harder. One way to make it affordable (and repeatable) is to launch multiple rockets and have some refuel the main ship which will make the trip. This has never been done before.
Another thing to keep in mind is that there is a shit ton Helium 3 up there. Whoever controls that will have the ability to set up a gas station on the moon and control who has easy access to Mars and the rest of the solar system. Colonizers gonna colonize.

Astrobotic's goal had been to deliver five Nasa instruments to the Moon's surface, to study the local environment ahead of the return of astronauts later this decade. Had the Peregrine craft been able to land successfully, it would have become the first American mission in half a century to do so, and the first ever private venture to achieve the feat.
Only government agencies from the US, the Soviet Union, China and India have managed controlled lunar landings to date. But Astrobotic's mission was in trouble almost as soon as it came off the top of its launch rocket on Monday 8 January. It can, though, console itself with what it did manage to accomplish in difficult circumstances by continuing to operate Peregrine in space for more than 10 days.
