"Do y'all find CNN to be just as unwatchable as Fox News these days?" Mon Jan-29-18 07:34 PM by sersey
In the past year they have gone full retard in their commitment to all things trump at all times. Turn to CNN at any time of day or night and unless they are at commercial, I guarantee you will not have to wait more than 90 seconds to hear or see the words trump on your screen.
If I want to stay truly informed about the wide range of current events happening in the world, I have to find another source. I get that as a network they've enjoyed record viewership and ratings since Trump was a candidate all most two years ago. But to force feed people with the most mundane trump antics ad nauseum on a daily basis is just as unethical as the lies and misinformation spewed on Fox News.
I'm on that NPR, Reuters, Vice news for the foreseeable future. Whatever happened to balance?
Zucker is a big sports fan, and from the early days of the campaign had spoken at editorial meetings about wanting to incorporate elements of ESPN’s programming into CNN’s election coverage. “The idea that politics is sport is undeniable, and we understood that and approached it that way,” he told me.

The transition being.. news coverage used to be largely delivered by an anchor looking into a camera and delivering the news. This format basically allows for an anchor to say “hey this is the crazy shit trump did today..and in other news... xyz happened.”
Those days are gone... all the coverage now is led by a panel of talking heads who state their opinions on a single topic in digestible 7 minute segments. It’s all opinion pieces with very little unfiltered reporting.
So yes, it’s a lot like sports news coverage . ESPN loves panels because it’s a great way to fill a 10 minute segment talking about a single play in last nights game. No harm done here though.
But when you treat politics the same way, you’re no longer reporting. You’re shaping a narrative and damn near indoctrinating people.

I can’t watch any of them unless it’s an election night.
I used to watch all of them when W and Obama were in office but it’s too depressing and too exhausting.
Wish I tapped out sooner.
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

24 hour news is only worthwhile for big events (9/11, Katrina, election night). The rest is he said/she said gossip, grandstanding, pointless "debates" and confirmation bias

CNN is garbage, but this isn't true. There doesn't have to be a right side in the battle of ridiculous newsmedia monsters, but there's definitely a wrong side.

...and I just got more and more annoyed. Was over his crib, and he had it on. MSNBC, I think (Whatever channel Sharpton and Harris-Perry were on). Just kept beating me over the head with the same shit, with no room for discourse or disagreement. Then my pop starts parroting the shit back to me, and I looked at him like he had the zombie virus.
Can't do it, and the comparison with Fox New is apt in the way that both side have an agenda, and stick to it HARD.
