"people who misuse words and terms to sound cool"
There was a co-worker of mine in Philly. He was an alcoholic, played in a band but he was also a political junky and a republican.
Dude told me he used go to GOP function get wasted and hit on the women and would tell people he was a "William f Buckley, old fashion, log cabin republican"
he did this for a few years before realizing what a log cabin republican was.
I still laugh when I think about it.

they would say shit like "wow, so brave..." "interesting"
he said sometimes the women would give a wtf but other times he was about to do "the fucking" as he liked to call it.
but he's thinking those comments were because he was a poor white dude from Philly who wasn't afraid to be a republican.

4. "old fashioned, log on the fire, rugged..." In response to Reply # 2
he thought it sounded like some rustic, tree chopping republican.
what was hilarious is dude had a slick tongue too. Could capture a room with his oral skills (big pun).
but he was also a heavy drinker, would throw a few back at lunch so I know that shit was hilarious.
the way he would imitate himself saying it all drunk and proud...
crying.
