through the extra thick security (Biden and the First Lady were in attendance) while Coldplay was playing, and man they have FALLEN THE FUCK OFF

Chris Martin fell off hard as fuck. Can't sing. Band sounds lazy. Songs sound dated and uninspired. They are terrible.

Anyway yeah, meeting the Yontz was so-so. But Jay Z was there so that was cool. Somehow Gwyneth Paltrow was in the building too. I know I saw all four of them at BLT years ago, but I guess they are all still friends minus Chris Martin.

I always turn the half-time show off, anyway...so even though I'm a huge Coldplay fan, I won't watch them perform it.

^^^^pays attention.....

But if they wanted to go that OLD ROCKER route, they could have gotten Axl and Slash on the phone to speed up that much rumored GNR reunion....

That would have been the smart move.....

It's supposedly going down...Nicki Sixx let the cat out of the bag (basically said Slash and Axl have buried the hatchet and are sitting up a reunion for 2016....)

Now would the NFL have had the balls to book such a unpredictable band on one of the world's biggest stages? That would be a huge gamble...

But it would have been worth the gamble.....

He's legit the worst thing that ever happened to the NFL. To the owners he's the best thing that ever happened. But to the players, fans, coaches, literally everything/everyone else, he's the worst.

I mean, I know EVERYONE watches the Super Bowl. But football is still mostly targeted to an alpha-male audience. Historically, halftime shows have been a reflection of that: current popular bands, hot female singers, hot girls dancing everywhere, etc. Then Janet happened, so they moved to past-their-prime classic rock groups, which still in *some* ways appealed to that target audience. Then once the networks decided enough time had passed for all of us sensitive Americans to get over the ghastly sight of a beautiful black titty they went right back to smoking hot, relevant female singers.

Now this?! How does this AT ALL appeal to the alpha-male audience? Honestly I'll be watching the Puppy Bowl.

I actually like Coldplay, so I'm really not mad at this. But, some people may be. Its their right. But I wouldn't have minded seeing Bruno again. He had that place rocking.

Shoot, I might even try to get super bowl tickets since we will only be a hop skip and a jump from the arena.

>theyll do some upbeat ish especially form their new
>release..and if they even do some somber

But that's the thing. Few acts SCREAM football beyond the obvious choices....

Katy Perry....BEP's, Bruno....These acts don't scream the NFL...

But these acts fit into certain bags that work for the NFL.....

Attractive ass chicks for dudes to salivate over (Perry, Beyonce, etc...); UBER current hitmakers (Bruno, Justin, BEP's...) Classic Rockers (Stones, Tom Petty, Bruce, the Who, Paul Mac, etc...---the obvious choices) and legends that fit in with the post classic '70s rockers/post baby boomer favs (Prince, Madonna, U2...)...

Coldplay doesn't connect with any of this^^^^^ ....lol

Coldplay is U2 without the rock star balls; and no one has ever accused Bono and them of being UBER, BALLSY ROCKERS (and again, I like some songs from Chris and the crew...)....That's how EMO they r....

It's a weird, strange pick any way u slice it....

it's not about "screaming football"

no musician does.

it's just a big party.

no one invites coldplay to a party.

I know they are practically 65 years old , still, there's no way them performing "You shook me all night long", "ack in lack" (no, I can not write that letter) or "Whole lotta rosie" would fail to turn that alpha-male context out... A missed opportunity, year after year-especially since AC/DC is one of the GOATs, whatever...
