"has anyone here worked at a coffee shop?"

i don't know why i have this fascination with working at a coffee shop lol but i do
been thinking of trying to get a part time job at one just to feed the fascination
any reason this is a crazy idea?

If you love coffee and being polite to people even when they're entitled assholes, then it's really enjoyable.

But the pay is sooooo shitty. Insultingly shitty.

Other than that, I love it.

If you can get into a local little shop, definitely go for that.

I'm working at a chain that shall not be named right now. It's fine, but I'm an artisan-coffee girl.

But that's really with any service job.

*high five on the Chemex*
We are paid minimum wage, so we're not earning a living. Every little bit of tip helps.
I actually use my tips to help pay my bills.

Thanks! The good customers really do make the work day. And the tips make my life.

It had some kinda romantic charm to it. It was low stress. The clientele were young and hip, mostly. I learned to make cheese eggs in a mug and what a bain marie was. Got stuck in the walk-in for an uncomfortable interval. It wasn't the worst thing ever.

Almost no money tho..

It was dope. I worked at a non-corporate coffee shop that always played the dopest music. I had a blast, met great people, hosted dope art shows and music shows. It was an experience and making them drinks are a form of art.

we keep it moving,
