I think this may explain some of your social "issues". Did you skip grades in primary-secondary school? Did you live on campus? If so, how long?

i started school early and skipped a grade.

i did not live on campus, but i did snag a boo-thing.

i spent most of my time in her dorm.

i had full scholarship that was impossible to sustain.

they gave me an extra two thousand/semester to live on campus, but i wanted the cash instead. spent it all on hats. no bullshit. i was addicted to them that year.

took me about two years to run completely out of money and then i joined the 'workforce'.

did a bit more college at around 25 or 26, but i was way too far along in my field to gain anything from it.

i could've been teaching those classes.

so i bounced on that, too.

i remember some woman on here had a kid that they wanted to skip from like first grade to fifth and i told her "noooooooooooooooooo!"

she proceeded to argue vehemently. i felt her. she never had shit. no college. no one in her family went to college. she was thinking she wanted to give her kid every advantage.

i tried to explain to her the immense social setbacks and other ramifications. i turned down the chance to go from 2nd to 6th grade, from 5th grade to 9th and then from 8th grade to college. it was weird because i felt like they were rewarding me for not showing up to school (i missed half the year most years and still had district high standardized tests). but i didnt want to miss out on stuff like playing sports or the clumsy ass stages of dating and i sure as hell didnt want to be a CHILD IN COLLEGE.

she was like "well how do you know it was bad if you didnt do it?" and i told her about two kids i knew that made similar leaps (one skipped three grades in grade school, another went from 8th grade to college). i wonder what ever happened with her kid.
