"F*ck Airbnb Customer Service - Any one deal with them?"
So i got a week-long trip to Chicago commin up for work, and I booked hotels rooms for myself and two coworkers back in July. Then my gf finds out she can come with, and I decide to book an AirBnB so we can have more room. Ive used them 10+ times in the past and its always been great, until now.
Long story short, since my booking, the host has been unresponsive, and I noticed a new review where he cancelled someones stay a few weeks after mine, saying he wasn't renewing his lease. i try to hit him up again and get no response for days. i message airbnb and tell them i am getting worried and need to cancel, and they point out that he has a "strict" cancellation policy, and I would owe 50% if i did. despite me pointing out that he has cancelled another reservation, and has not responded to me. i has been going back and forth with them all week, and have spoke to various "managers" and they still concluded that they will not force him to cancel and if i wanted to, i would owe 50% of the full original charge.
now i don't know if i should contact my cc company and try to get a charge back through them, or if there are any other options.
anyone else ever deal with them when a problem like this occurred? any luck with any other approaches?
...whose owner hosts through airbnb. I don't have much to add to this post besides that, sorry. Never used the company. That situation sucks donkey dick tho and I'll remember your sharing it if I ever consider them when traveling.
Can he be put on blast if he screws you and your tavel plans over?

unless he cancels within 48 hours of my stay. so if he gives me three days notice, Airbnb sees that as totally fine and won't penalize his account.
ive booked some amazing places through them tho, including am 8 br mansion in MIA with no issues, but I guess it all depends on the host not being an pos. if they screw you tho, Airbnb will do nothing to correct the situation.
