i disagree wholeheartedly. fucking around with wiretaps and shit is some seriously illegal bullshit. levy would have found out with herc and fucked them up in court.

plus, shit like this has a lot ramifications, if they get caught (and be real, mcnulty told the whole damn world they did that shit), it would be next to impossible to do case work in the bpd. every thing would be quadruple checked for irregularity.

i just read in the other post that it was a pretty big debate around here
what was the conclusion?

we only started watching the wire in december but after watching season 4 we got into a HUGE debate about it
i clearly remembered marlo telling mike to sit that out
but my husband and mom WILL NOT BELIEVE that it was anyone but
like they're going so hard about it

chris will get booked for the murder because that was fair play (aside from the white lie of mcnulty signing off).

the previews for next episode look interesting.. cheese and fat face rick confrontation and i'm assuming rick figured out cheese gave him up and stepped to him. slim is in that scene, too.. hmm... marlo has a suit on outside of a prison cell (bail?) and looks to be swinging on somebody also.. i can't wait.

i can't believe the wire is over in one week (or is it two?).

Here I thought marlo was scared to come out and face omar this whole time, he didn�t know. Their crew was paranoid thinking mike snitched when bunk was just doing �good old fashioned� police work. There was no source that snitched, this was freamon�s wire and herc�s phone number for marlo

- Tristan wilds conveys concern, frustration and anger incredibly.
I thought he was bugging when he said "who you kidding duke, I know what they do in there.". The last scene hurt, and the preview for the finale with Pryzbylewski stung worse.

- Snoop went out like a soldier, shit was bone chilling. Mike is a lone wolf now, it was sad how his aunt didn�t acknowledge him.

- Namond got fat in the face

- McNulty stuck with the red ribbon/bite marks story when an actual homeless dude turned up dead

- Good to see Bubs looking fully healthy for the first time, I wonder if we�ll ever fully know his relationship with Sherrod

- I'm not really mad that Kima snitched, the character had her convictions and it was a necessity to move the plot forward

- This episode is what season 4 had been building up to, just how much of their innocence had been lost when Mike couldnt remember the happier times, Randy's in the group home, I'm totally crushed at the path Dukie is headed down.

With Marlo, if he thinks you did it, you did it, and you gotta get dealt with...they're about 95% sure Mike didn't snitch, but they had to try to murk him on the 5% chance that he might have.

I think Marlo will eventually connect the dots and realize how they got that info tho. He said even Snoop didn't have a phone, and everybody who did have a phone and knew the code is locked up, that's what got everybody confused as shit.

I agree, that last scene with Mike and Dukie made me feel so sorry for him...cuz in all of this, Dukie is just lost in the shuffle. He aint got no Aunt to go to, no Bunny Colvin to take him in, no more friends left...he can't bang, and he's too scared to go to school, so he's just ass out in the streets to fend for himself.

Bubs and Sherrod's relationship was that Bubs seen Sherrod as like his son...he was somebody he thought he could show the right way so he aint end up like him...and he ended up dyin in a situation that he felt like was his fault.

Mike could remember...he said "I do" when Duke asked if he remembered...or maybe I heard it wrong, I gotta watch again. But you're right, all their innocence is completely gone now.
