"If you could replace all the guest rappers on HIGO...who would u put..."

1 - A Peace of Light" (feat. Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian, Haley Dekle)
This was perfect...can stay as is...

2 - Walk Alone" (feat. Truck North, P.O.R.N., Dice Raw)
replace all 3 mc's...substitute with ..no one...

3 - Radio Daze" (feat. Blu, P.O.R.N., Dice Raw)
take out all 3 MC's...replace with ...Tip and J-Live..

4 - Now or Never" (feat. Phonte, Dice Raw)
take out Dice...replace with Lil Wayne...yes that Lil Wayne...
LW gets some artistic cred...the roots pick up some under-18 fans..
and dont lose cred in the process..( wayne/tae sound well together )

5 - How I Got Over" (feat. Dice Raw)
leave as is...

6 - The Day" (feat. Blu, Phonte, Patty Crash)
take out phonte...replace with Ras Kass...

7 - Right On" (feat. Joanna Newsom, STS)
take out STS...replace with no one... Thought should hold this track totally by himself...best track on this album in my opinion...

8 - Web 20/20" (feat. Peedi Peedi, Truck North)
take out both rappers...replace with Pharoah Monch and Dre 3K...

9 - Hustler ( feat STS ) ...
take out STS..replace with the Jigga Man...I can see him destroying this track...

Malik B...at some point The Roots have to realize that no-one provides a better contrast to Black Thought's style than Malik. Not to mention, IMO, he brings out the best in Black, he always goes to the next level with Malik on the track...

Personally I don't see why one would want to try to "fix" what is already nearly flawless. I hate when people do that shit. Like when you see these dumb "remixes" by fans that want to hear Biggie and 50 on the same song so you hear their verses mashed and acted out like it was meant to be. This is same type of bs.

Stay strong

....when u listen to WALK ALONE...ur gonna tell me the 2nd MC doesnt sound out of place???

on WALK ALONE, i believe ur the first MC that comes on...then someone else...then tariq....i said take out both guest mc's
(yes that means you too)...and just leave thought..

and as far as having ras kass or wayne appear over you on the album?

lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAXZ2C926Is
thats ras kass trading verses with the GZA....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjdP0wq4Ii0
that's lil wayne on a track with phonte....

that's not like putting ur wife's nephew on a track...i think both artists have a track record.

having an opinion that might be critical and being able to even TALK to the people that made the album is what made this site special. I have participated on this site almost since its inception over 10 years ago will miss that dearly.

That's P.O.R.N, and I think he works really well with the track actually; it's a sombre reflective song, and his vocal inflections reflect that too.

Also, I think the Truck North - first MC on Walk Alone - had the best verse there.

(And I'm not saying that just because he may still be lurking here, sullen at this thread.)

it's art.

I argue with my lil nephews about how rap sucks now compared to back then. I can come up with 100 "objective" arguments as to why.

at the end of the day, its like comparing food. i can bite something and it will taste great to me. u can eat it, and it will make u nauseaus.

and i take nothing away from Truck or P.O.R.N.

those tracks were monster and hearing 3 verses of thought usually result in something better than thought with 2 other people. ( with rare exception ).

Now I remember why I haven't clicked on OKay Artist in months.

I don't even know what to say to all of that. Replace Phonte(one of the best verses on the album IMO) with Ras Kass? Huh? Take off Blu?

The album was great, guests were fine. Like others said, just get Malik B on there.
