thoughts verse (and by the way, i think that, in general, black thought is the most profound emcee ever) is pretty much just braggadocia right? do you just mean the sophistication of his words?
i mean he's not saying anything super profound in that verse specifically. not that eminem is either.
pretend to be cats don't seem to know they limitations exact replication and false representation

I don't think the deeper content of either freestyle was too crazy, but whereas em can spit amazing rhythms, he uses short and unimpressive words. Thought, on the other hand, has an incredible vocabulary...
I've seen them a bunch and never remember hearing that, But your probably the one guy i would question about live roots that isn't in the band. I was just disappointed Mos spit something i have heard so much over the recent months.

thing; is smoke and mirrors, (RIP) Pun - once you get past the "illie billie silly" grade school vocabulary "over populated saliva gland". Mumble Jumble. Its sort of flat.
BT verse has more content and is timeless. You can take that verse and throw it on any joint the past decade.

Gotta cosign that my friend. The Joe Budden verse was nice as well. But, I'm going to have to go with KRS-One as the overall for the cold drink. He was REALLY free-styling and the NIKE thing he did was genius.

Shouldn't be so suprising. Em is an incredible lyricist when he is motivated, and what greater motivation than to get in their with an emcee like Black Thought? I think its a toss up either way. This is what hip hop should be, when you have steel sharpening steel. I could only imagine the type of madness that could/would be coating our ears if Em had signed with Duck Down instead of Dre. Not that I am complaining about that decision, it makes sense. Come on though, imagine a Therapy remix with Sean P, Rock, Starang Wondah, AND FUCKING EMINEM! Wow, I need a moment!LOL

I agree entirely. Black Thought dropped a sick verse, but Em's was just something else. I know people who will disagree, but thats what taste is all about.
