Yea, when I first heard the ATCQ song too, I didn't know he did it, at the time I was 9, my english was not that great, so I did not really check who produced what, but later on as I really got into Dilla, I did some research and found out that he produced that track.

first time I heard the track was on a radio show out here in Houston (KTRU Rice Radio - Rob Phat & OakCliff) and before the track was played, money said it was produced by Q Tip.
Obviously dude was wrong, AND obviously dude didnt actually have a vinyl copy of that joint.
I believed it at first cause it had a Q Tip bounce to it.
With that said, the cat that played the track is a lame anyway, so it didn't suprise me in the least that dude was giving out false info.
We see through all that boo boo like it's ghost shit... (c) Quelle Chris

the songs from pharcyde's labcab and then It's a Party by busta. i just remember loving the beats cuz they were different. once i knew about slum village and dilla in 99-2000 i went back and was very surprised to see how many songs he produced that i loved. they were all my favorite joints. i was a fan long before i actually knew who he was.

I heard a number of tracks by Dilla before I even knew who he was. In the 90's I was all about the MC's. So I heard the Pharcyde stuff, Tribe, Skills, etc... but I first knew of Dilla's name from the Funk Flex freestyle with him and Tip and then after that from the Players white label that my man had. So Dilla snuck up on me after MAD years.
i remember checkin my vinyl who produced it and i thought JAY DEE was such a cool name! DROP was on the flip side and i remember that it was/is slightly harder mixing jay dee tracks..i had recently started djing by that time (started late 94) and i didn´t get why my mix would always fuck up when i played these pharcyde tracks..didn´t realize until later that it was jay dee's style, goint slightly off beat...so since then i´m always on my toes when i´ve jay dee in my mix

Ironically the very first song I heard I had no idea it was Dilla, or at this point in time Jay Dee. The song I heard was called Front Street on 89.9 WKCR back in like the summer of 95. That track sounded like nothing that was being played on college radio at the time. Actually, I should say radio period. I then went on to hear the work he did on Labcabin later that fall, and never made the relation till some years later.

Definitely "Runnin" Pharcyde...94/95 I think "Joe Cleezy" was hosting on Rap City. Then I saw it on New York Undercover. Then I stole the tape from my cousin. Then I played that shit till the tape broke.
