I just saw the credits for the 'why you wanna' joint off of the king album and it has james yancey listed in as a credit.Anybody know where the connection is?
"Why You Wanna" contains an interpolation of the Tribe song "Find a Way," which Dilla produced. That might be why he's credited. I dont have the liner notes to that album but it be worth checking to see if there are other members of Tribe credited too.
though I don't see where that song is interpolated in T.I.'s
with the original Tip. "Got Till It's Gone" I believe it's T.I's use of "Why you wanna go & do that..." is why Mr. Yancey is credited.
