"yo, what up wit all these producers jackin' Dilla's Beats?" Mon Feb-27-06 02:09 AM by Majik43
Let's count it down
1) Got Til' It's Gone - Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis... ion't care how big in the game these dudes are, they're chumps for rollin' wit this garbage story.
2) I can't even remember this forgettable R&B chic. Jermaine Dupri jacked SV's 'Get Dis Money' beat (not the sample, the beat!!!!) and fronted all over that shit.
3) All due respect to 2Pac but the fool who made that 'Do For Love' beat obviously heard Pharcyde's 'Why' Remix... Produced by Jay Dee!!!
4) Now I'm hearing this song for the first time, but someone went and jacked that 'Runnin' sample exactly the same way for this Mya song 'Runnin'.
I know there's more but I can't even remember the rest right now. Why didn't they just call the dude? These mainstream producers are some bitch-made, credit jacking mofos.

Can anyone upload this R&B song?

Yeah, Dilla was mad about that too. He talked about it in an interview. Check my sig (the 4th download I think). But I still can't hear where Pac's song jacks Dilla... can anyone point it out?

Isn't this the remix Pharcyde did with Mya? I can't really blame anyone for this one. That's Pharcyde's song too (*Mya... *)

5. ""Baggage Handlers" by Raekwon featuring Busta Rhymes" In response to Reply # 0
That's got to be the most blatant rip I ever heard. It's just a sample from "Scarface" as its intro and a loop of the beat between "Nag Champa" and "Thelonius" from Like Water For Chocolate.
RZA is credited as the producer.
Fuggowdahere. ----------------------------- Thank you, Jay Dee.

dunno if they paid him, since it was a mixtape, but they at least give him a credit
but didn't ?uest claim to have done that? i remember him posting something about how purposely put that interlude on LWFC to show he could do Wu-Tang beats, and was glad they bit the bait

and the R&B singer was LaToiya Williams, on The Wash soundtrack
LaToiya's usually really dope (see "My First Love" with Anthony Hamilton and "Fallen Star" off Snoop's compilation album) but yeah, that track was horrible

anyone remembers the shoutouts on the blackstar album. i remember reading it when it came out in 1998 and laughin at mos`s part:
Jay Dee (NOT jermaine dupri).
thats when i really started checking jay`s music knowing who he was. damn thats 8 years ago and i know cats knew about him even before that. im in Poland so let that be my excuse.

off spinemagazine.com:
New track from La The Darkman 'Brooklyn, Brooklyn' featuring Division, produced by The RZA. Taken from the new DJ J-Love mix CD 'King Of What I Do 15'.
If you heard any dilla beattapes, you know that's a dilla beat. At first i thought spine just got it wrong, but they are actually shoutin out RZA on the track for doing the beat. I know it's just a mixtape, but damn at least give credit where credit is due.

when i first saw it on SpineMag, i was like, "weird.. La The Darkman wasn't listed on Stones Throw's list of people Dilla had finished production for before passing"
