I know enough not to get really cheap cables, but are "high-end" cables such as the ones Monster Cable sells really worth it? I have a Roland Fantom keyboard, MPC1000, and MP7. My plan is to record vocals and my instruments at 24-bit, 96kHz for smoother mixing and effects "in the box" using Logic Express.
What are some of your experiences and/or opinions with cables?

unless you have money to burn on them. If you're making records for Michael Jackson, then get them, but if you're making demos or indulging a fun hobby, don't burn money on cables. If you really want to be pro, then you should make your own cables.

they re higher end than total piece of shit cables, but an audiophile would puke if he heard someone say that monsters were high end. high end cables range from the upper hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars

i think monster makes some goot cables, at least in their high end range, no nuts about their lower ended stuff... sounds like proco. for your MC an shit, you're fine in 8 out of 10 cases going with a pro co snake or making your own (for the tt guys) if you want good sounding cables for a better deal, go mogami
