that said, I can imagine an emcee REALLY enhancing this track

are you entering the contest with the producer/emcee collaborations? Cause this would be an amazing entry with the right emcee.

good work milkman, I really dig what you've done arrangement-wise with the beat, It's very good mixed with everything in it's right place.

These kinds of beats are usually not my cup of tea, this is not the type of music i listen to... some thoughts anyway:

-Maybe some sort of lead-melody would be a good idea?
-Maybe some percussion would add another dimension to the beat...

Really nice!

I absolutely love it. Job well done man. There are many different sounds mixed in, very diverse, and its very smooth. Not too static, and has a professional sound to it.

486: Not really digging the drums, A for effort, but they don't seem to fit on this song. GREAT samples though, and the bass is quite nice. I think with a change of drums this could be really good.

Something: I really like this, but you'd obviously have to take out the obvious beatles sample if you ever wanted to do anything with it. Is the whole thing beatles samples also, if so I can't tell. The more I listen the more I like this, and like the above people said the drums are VERY nice.

Leroy: I like all the individual elements, the samples are nice, the drums are adequate, the bass is good, but it just doesn't do much for me personally.

In reference to the Somethin' beat the sample is from Booker T and the MG's, the song is a bit Beatles-esqe but its not sampled from them, do you know which Beatles tune it reminds you of? Im not that hot on them to be honest. Cheers for the feedback on the others its always good to get other opinions and especially american ones seeing that most of the feedback we get is from fellow UK heads.

these are nice, well-produced beats. You know your way around with the drums I can tell, really nice! Think it was that first beat with the open hihats on it i liked the most.
I usually like beats in which more things "happen" if you understand what I mean...? But these are really nice.

the reds: kind of a cool sample, but sounds like it's too filtered, doesn't really fit in with the rest of the sounds, needs to be "fuller".

hav u seen her?: I like the chops, but I think it needs another part to stand on it's own. Maybe some keys of some sort.

air signs: my fav so far, but again the sample sounds so thin and filtered while the drums and bass sound really full, I know some people probably like this effect, but it really bugs me, it makes me think the sample is gonna come in harder and fuller and then it never does.

look watch: ghost would murder this, other than that I dunno what you could do with it

ms.fat booty remix: this is real nice, totally changed the feeling of that track and it works perfectly, I think that's the sign of a good remix.

a dedication: love the sample, hate the drums with it, and the bass could be turned up a bit.

Ooh and Yeah: this is boring to me and that singing needs some autotune.

Yo, nice joints

-Just Relax - I love the sample on that joint
-Epic has a nice feel, I can imagine it as an intro or outro type track.

Overall nice joints. Keep honing your skills, these are solid joints.

Keep Goin -- sounds real similar to Tribe....same sample from a track on "Low End Theory?"

Still I Play -- great acoustic guitar, and nice layered percussion. This one has a real good vibe.

Just relax --- straight up 80s sound....not my cup of tea, but it is well arranged

Epic --- great intro before the hi-hats come in....like how its all slightly detuned.....real nice feel to this track. I could hear Method Man on this....reminds me of the remix to "Wings of the Morning" (the Capleton track)

Epic and Still I Play are the joints I'm feeling the most.

Proof Positive --- nice....feeling the walking bassline

What You Say --- I like the sustained string over the top, plus the little saxophone stab. Real mellow vibe going on here. Plus the "Yeah......"

To be honest, the lyrics to me are just eh....

I'm not feeling them.

The beats are better, and a real solid start if you just started producing.

"Story tellin" - nice ass drums!

"The Abyss" - I can tell you like the dreamy ass beats already....lol.

"U Do U" - I dont know about this one. Seems like it's missing something. I dont really like those drum choices either.

"TWITA" - Not really feelin this one. Drums just sound too generic to me.

"Story tellin" is a nice one. Keep working on your shit and you'll be nice with it one day.

Chincheckin --- for some reason, I'm thinking a banjo melody line might be appropriate on that track.

Overall, I'm into pursuit the most.

Cool drum break, and the original song is dope. eleven twelve.

This track seems to be real low-resolution though....you might want to try mixing this down in a bit higher quality, and it'll sound better.

I'm feeling the piano hit with the echo/reverb....

Drums sound a bit distorted, is that intentional?

Has a good, gritty vibe to it overall, real stripped down ---

Cool shit. I could see some rhythm guitar working well on this joint.

Yeah, the drums are meant to sound like that. I dont have any recording software, so I cant really do much since I go straight from MP to CD Burner.

I can hear a nice guitar riff on this too. Sometimes I need other folks to tell me what they can hear on shit since I'm always good for under-doing a track *rather than over-doing it.

I still gotta add a lil garnish to live'n it up a bit. Some emcee soundbites or some shit....

Thanks for listenin'.

In the beginning I was a little skeptical, but once the beat dropped, its def got potential... some of the sounds don't mesh well to me, but, I would def keep workin with this, its got mad potential...

sounds like it could come out with a prince paul vibe, which would be dope

"Time Shrine" is nice.

"Infected" is cool, but that "ehhhhh" sample gets old quick. Pull that a lil sooner.

"The Fraggle" is a nice lil cool out track. I can dig it. I aint felin that random lil drum break in the middle, though. Kinda throws off the track.

"Falcon Cresh" is decent. That kick doenst go with that snare to me, though. But maybe it's just me.

Overall, not bad.

As far as your sound....i'd say it's hip hop...I cant really hear anyone rhyming over these. Good instrumental joints, though.

I pulled Falcon Cresh to add my newest "opus", 'Winter' (Myspace only allows four songs at a time).

Oh and a little backstory: I'm 25, been producing since high school. 'Infected' and 'The Fraggle' are a couple of my earliest joints. 'Time Shrine' is circa 2003, and 'Winter' really is my newest (fresh as of yesterday) one.

Hope you guys enjoy.

Real boom bap. I'm feeling when the filtered musical loop comes in about 30 seconds into the track.

>Rock the Burn
This shit is slooooow. Not my favorite, but it's well mixed.

>Situations
Nice drum loop. This is both bright and dirty at the same time, nice combination.

>Try This
This joint is cool, good ideas in here. You might want to think about cleaning up the bass a little bit, and making it less distorted. The electric guitar chops are nice.

Y'all shit is nice, for real. The recordings are nice and the drum choices are on point.

Sounds like some shit I'd hear on some old S&B (strech and bobbito), or sway and Tech shows.

REminds me of some PUTS type shit.

"Hangover Sunrise" is nice. I like that lil piano hit. Overall goodness. Sounds professional.

"Song For Doug" is dope too. Good shit. Professional sound once again. What the hell are y'all recording with?

"Watch Ya Step" sounds like a good recording, but I'd skip that joint if Iwas listening to your CD. But that's just me. I'm sure it wil be appealing to other folks.

Overall good shit. Keep it up.

Hangover Sunrise: real nice.

Introducing: digging the guitar.

Watch Your Step: is that an accordian? That is up there with the bagpipes in terms of unexpected instruments on hip-hop tracks. Not feeling this one as much as the others, but its well mixed.

Song for Doug: man, this is a nice drinking anthem.

This is the intro to a demo for an MC i know (once its been mastered). I'd especially like to know what anyone thinks of the vocal sample that kicks in around the 1:00 minute point.

Anyway, any and all advice/criticism is appreciated.
Thanks.

I appreciate your positivity. As a artist, for someone to be able to relate to your craft is very rewarding. Once again, thanks.

I'm into the last few. Horns, Tie that Binds, Hutch. Particularly Horns, that has a nice 1940s vibe to it....Billie?

The saxophones on It's Easy Being Greene are nice too, the way they are compressed and sandwiched into the mix.
