I got it a while ago, still need to devote some real hours to it. That manual is hella thick.

That MPC1000 looks like a toy

Not saying it is... its more capable than the 2000XL and 3000 in terms of specs

after messing around with different computer programs, but i could just never get into it, mostly because i don't have a ton of time to sit down and learn it

for the most part i can get the sound i have in my mind out better on the computer, and its mad cheaper

i sold all my shit back to guitar center (love the 30 day return policy)

maybe i'm just retarded but that shit was hard to learn

If you put the new OS on the old blue one, or buy the black one that comes with it already, you can do some serious stuff with it.
If you max out the RAM on it, you can even resample your tracks into it and burnthem on cd via USB.
If looks like a toy, sure, but it all business when you larn how to use it.

The once and future Master

damn why niggas gotta shit on the 1000..madlib and dilla was making heat on a bullshit sp303 for GOD sakes so its not all about what machine u rock..its not all about IMAGE...not tryna get off subject..but the 1000 in terms of features is killin the 2000 series w/ the new os...and quite frankly its not all about features anyway..its all about what u feed in the machine in terms of sounds and creativity.

I just got my 1000 modded w/ the 120 gb hard drive..bout to get the black conversion kit too soon.

MPC1000 + Hard drive + Memory upgrage + OS upgrade > than all other MPCs except for the 4000.

i say this b/c you can't spread the MIDI keyboard with the 1000...as of right now with this current operation.

..but have you fucked with the 2500 at all. Those Q-Links are the shit and you can sample while sequence is playing -- ideal for sampling instruments in.

i learned the hard way and learning the hard way WAS reading the manual. I'm one of them types that like to learn by doing hands on, but reading the manual was the best way i could get the most out of my 1000. so grab the book everytime you goto the shitter.

you wont be disapointed in the end.
