I'm always interested in hearing what projects people are working on and I know a lot of heads here want feedback on their music. So if you have a song or album of music that you think is good, I'll listen to it in it's entirety and get back to you with a complete review. Maybe with a little positive spotlight from this forum it might get your music more visible to other heads.


The only catch is that I'm primarily interested in listening to instrumental projects. It's not that I have anything against hiphop, but my 2 infants are usually around and I don't feel like explaining what phrases like "trick nigga" and "trap house" mean. But I'll check out the occasional joint with vocals if it's not to explicit. So hit me up with your links and let's get this going.

Since it's only a few songs on your Myspace, I'll break them down individually

From the Sky - Nice layering, I like the effects and sampling under the main groove. Did'nt really care much for the vocal sample though, it was also a bit repetitive.

The Feeling - I liked this one a lot better, nice piano and bass. Did'nt really blow me out the box or anything, but definitely a nice chill beat. In fact I might throw this one into a instrumental compilation.

Rubba - This one is dope, nice drums, sampling, layering, everything is on point with this one.

Return, Incline, Rebel07 - I thought all 3 of these tracks were ill. I'm into the spacey, pyschedelic sound and these beats had that all over them.

Itis Remix - Very dope, really feeling this one. Who's the singer, sounds a bit like Bilal Salaam

Seek Know More Remix - I did'nt like the opening vocals on this one, so I did'nt think I would like this track. However this turned out to be a banger too, as the track progressed I thought the production was ill. It had that nice spacey, reverb feel through-out and the singing actually sounded better after the opening vocal. Dope


Overall this was better than a lot of hyped albums I've read about on this board from mainstream producers. Hit me up with a download link, I would definitely bump this in the ride and even recommend it. It's laidback and mellow, kind of on the same platform as Afta-1 (who I love right now).

ahhh...the original is a track from a new zealand group...50 HZ...the vocals are by Ladi6 (who ids dope in her own right)....
did that remix for a NZ tv series a production company shot in jamaica in 08.....
a show called making tracks i think...the host travels to different countries...takes new zealand music..and has local producers/musicians put a 'local' spin on it...they meet people in music in that country and kinda weave a story between the characters....
they've been brazil, china, india i think, south africa and a few other places
not sure how 'jamaican' my version sounded...but i enjoyed doing it..

First off let me give you props on the album cover. I'm really about artistic album covers, I liked the concept. Simple but yet dope.


Radio - I did'nt listen to the whole song, I'm just not interested in hiphop these days. However I did like the Tool sampling, you get extra bonus points on that alone. (I love Tool) Nice riff sample and the drums were decent. But since I did'nt listen to the entire track I don't know how it progresses.

The Shining - Wow, dope one. Love the strings and the synth, drums fit the track nicely too. Again since it's rap I did'nt listen to the entire song. (I did like the first few bars the emcee spit)

After the first 2 tracks I discovered the entire album is basically hiphop so I did'nt bother reviewing the rest. However if you put out an instrumental project I'll definitely check for it.

your voice is solid, your lyrics are straight, flow is solid, and the beat is on point. i dunno what my problem is.

actually this plays better after multiple listens. i think i want to hear a little more excitement in the delivery. not a TON because this don't need a ra-ra, mop type vocal but i would like a bit more "umph" i guess

other then that... nothing but good things to gleam from this. i'll check for you in the future.

"hey, so i just finished my 2nd project (i don't know whether to call it a mixtape or an album, but i tried to have it play like an album) and i wanted to share it..

brief intro.. the project is called "33:55" (slight homage to that LCD Soundsystem/Nike album.. and also slight laziness on my part, as the title is also the running time). basically it's a capella verses over beats, but i look at it more like the sample sources (musical and vocal) are the stars of a movie that i directed rather than songs that i made (if that makes any sense).. i didn't crate-dig, i used songs that i already liked and tried to fit the sounds into an overall "vision".. i added some of my own instrumentation, but mostly to fill out the sounds.. haha ok, that's prob. all you need to know going in..

the first, "At The Ready" is a composed beat. a very basic, "101" type progression most here will probably hate it but i *personally* think it's dope, i mean i think i got a lot of mileage out of that a-g-f-e-g. it needs a few things to be leveled down and the highs are a bit high and yada yada....

"For Dolo" is a sampled joint, using the Five Stairsteps sample of "Danger, She's a Stranger" that oukast used for "two dope boys", which i personally think i freaked much better. but that's me.
