Grow Up - This is actually one of my favorite remixes out of the 1000 i've heard. LOL...more serious tone, but somehow it fits.

Squeeze - This is ok. The moody synth keys and drums give it that Prince feel. I can dig it.

Final Days - This gets a little mundane until the breakdown and the tremolo. Then it goes back. Keep in mind, I'm listening to this my work speakers. keep experimenting.

Stay Cool - This is jazzed out. By now, i got your angle. Somehow this doesn't fit the vocalist to me. not bad, but he's spitting too hard.

Do you Love Me - its ok. good chops. drums have a subtle live feel. I think its the snare.

DreamBlockin No Sample - If this joint don't have samples in it then that's a hell of a use for a vocoder (sped up vocals) Song is cool. Keep workin at it.

Dreamblockin - The hell is the difference? seriously?

Digital Swagger X - The track is dope. Sets mood really good. Rhymes aren't as ferocious to match the track, but keep coming with it.

Heart Of the Heroic - Sounds like you giving us your demo now.

From Inside Machine X - This track sounds like you had good intentions. The samples make it sound like its everywhere. I know that your sound is young but you'll get better once you step outside the shell from the production and rhyme standpoint. Work on mic presence and personality.

...they need some life in em yo! The rhythmic control is not there, and it sounds like you're constantly running out of breath, which is weird because it also sounds like you're not using breath support.


The dangerous thing about putting full songs up for critique rather than just beats is that more elements are exposed, such as the song arrangement and the flow. I can tell you're a lot more at home working on the beats themselves, but for example, Smoothly Flowin sounds kind of amorphous; I can't tell what either of y'all are saying but I can tell there are emcees, and the beat just kind of cranks on, and the emcees just kind of flow on, with no real structure. That's a dope beat, though, very cool-style and smoothed out, and sonically nicely balanced.


Some of these issues could be resolved by proper mixing, such as making room around the vocals, cutting out some of that reverb!, and some compression, but some of them have to be addressed by adjustments in microphone technique and taking the time to map out where the song wants to go.


But I mean, you've got material to work with, and IMO with some proper attention to the vocal side these cuts would jump up several notches immediately.

Track 6 - strange loop. Its ok. could use a little drum variation.

Track 7 - see comments for track 6!

Track 10 - I like the feel to how it started out. The change up didnt really get me. Drums feel good and loose. freehand?

Track 12 - This is just ok. It sounds like you are trying to find your sound. Play with your drums some more. good work.

For 10...I feel like if this one had any semblance of harmonic connection in the keys, it could go somewhere. As of now, it's just sounding like a piece of sound over a bass note and some drums. A start, definitely, but it's got to go somewhere! The drums had some life to them, but they might've been a hair *too* loose in the groove.


12, now you've got a little harmony popping. It's like 6, 7, 10, and 12 were a direct progression of getting more practice in. I'm not sure if you intentionally put the hi-hat a 16th over or if it's just late. If it's on purpose...DOPE. In fact, even if it's not, I say keep it like this...but tighten it into the groove, as off-beat rhythms and syncopations have to be REALLY tight to come off convincingly. Overall, I'd love to hear more kick and snare and maybe a little less cymbal, though the cymbal works. And I like that you're using the stereo panorama. Hint: things like the cymbal go best when set opposite a hi-hat--try moving one or the over more to the left!

Overall, it's got a nice vibe and is really well balanced, between the two guitar voices and across the frequency band.


#11 rides pretty nicely, though I feel like something's missing. I might suggest bringing the bassline back into the mix a little more, then bringing out the low end as a whole; I'm not hearing any kick action at all, and that might be what's missing for me.


#12 had a refreshing start, but it kind of felt like it never got out of the intro vibe. On THIS one, bring that bassline out! I like this joint, though...and that bridge works out pretty smoothly..oh wait, that was the end..lol...well, that made for a good bridge.

..but the sound itself fits, and overall, the colors blend very well, in the melodic lines and in the percussion. It's making for more of a downtempo, jungle-ish, trip-hop kind of vibe. If you wanted more raw hip-hop, for example, you could bring up the kick drum and make a little more room around the snare by dropping everything else back a touch; funny how the mix approach can change the entire scene though. But as it stands, this is a nice cut.



It kind of reminds me of playing Shadowrun for SNES, really for no good reason..lol
