heres some feedback, i checked out the first 3 joints on your soundclick, and i suprised by the quality of modern hiphop beats i heard, considering the fact that it is a soundclick account.
http://www.myspace.com/boostcrewofficial on your 2nd jump i know the sample pretty well, i think its a yellow sunshine track you split up,(the track that was used for tupac's "dear mama" (i almost sure of it, might be wrong)), a while back i thought of using it as well, but you might wanna watch out for being a little predictable, its like when some dude used dillas rip of just blazes rip of dione warrwick's track "your gonna want me back" (STOP! on donuts), the dude served it up for sean price for the "jesus price superstar" album. he just took the sample and bumped it around a bit, and no matter how tight the sample could turn into, the shit just wont be better than it was the first time around. if your gonna take a well known sample and fuck with it? its best to make it unrecognizeable. its best to do it with any sample, so this means dont just take a sample and straight out "compress" it, to fit your drums BPM. take the sample and fuck it up, dont worry about the placement of the "moans", just take bits and pieces of the record and slam em on the track as you would want to hear them, as well as respecting the progression of the song.
http://www.myspace.com/boostcrewofficial A plus on your joints is the sound quality, i dont think you have to worry about that, its tight. all around the beats are not wack. however, something that is missing, which seems to be missing in many of young record rearrangers beats, is BASS, what the fuck, everyone likes bass, any style of music, i know cats who arent necessarily nice with keys, but they can still thow up a few "booms" every now and then. of course it takes time to blast shit like dilla but your technique is nice enough but with some booms on it?
ps i like the synthetic sounding scratch sound you layed on the first jam, is it synthetic or you record em yourself?
