That's a real nice beat. Good drums, I'm not sure, there could be some sort of thing keeping the eight or sixteenth notes when there's no rapping, maybe a really light hihat. But overall, dope song!

Missin Link's voice. He's really easy to record. Spits very even and doesn't bounce around the mic. Don't have to compress it much so the tone stays natural.
criticism: try not to overshadow the production. be one with it. I think you need to make your vocals fit into the beat. they sound like they're drowning out the production. showcase ALL the elements of the songs. i think it'll make the total package pop more...

You are right about the lyrics being louder than the beats. Most of these are the unmixed bounces that we got from the initial night of recording. So you are exactly right.

Well, one of the projects me and the crew have is our first attempt at an actual album and is now on iTunes, Rhapsody, and Amazon.com! 9 emcees were gracious enough to submit to us acapellas to remix and what you're about to hear is the end result (well, snippets in any event). I REALLY like how you flipped Power. that's by far my favorite of J.Rhodes beats...probably the trumpets and such in the bg
in all actuality, he's a lot more diverse than just "southern sounding" beats, but we have so damn many that we have to try to capture the right ppl at the right moment in time. the goal is never to make whats hot right now, its just to make good music, period. thanks for the feedback. there is more stuff at www.the808studio.com.

Yeah contemporary southern beats are SO easy to sell. My homie was tellin me that thats all the people ask him to make. They specifically ask for "Three Six Mafia" type beats. I just kinda laugh...because all of their music ends up sounding the same as the next guy's.
