This Cat Tango - kinda drab. The repeated background string sample go old by the end of the beat. Maybe add in some other instruments to add some melody changups?

Mr. Philpot's - again, a bit plain, but I can see how this may be trying to capture the mood of Mr. Philpot's job? I dunno, I feel like it could use some more of...somethin.

Buy the Dap is pretty tight. I like that it has a lot more melody to it than the others. The chops are alright but I don't like the drums on Daniella Morgana. It sounds like it's *just about* to get live but never does.

dope, nice arrangements and everything, but as you can probably tell i lean towards samples over instruments (lol, i rely on samples is more like it)

your tracks, when they come in they give a real "light" impression (see that earl klugh is an influence so....) but there's a nice musicality to them, very different from what i do

of one joint off the Ocean's 12 soundtrack...had that spacey sort of guitar riffage going on, though they were more strictly on the vintage tip so it didn't groove as hard as this does.


Hues Them Blues got a nice cool sound to it, though on these cruddy work speakers, the snare kind of jumps out at me, esp. on the double hits. Thus, the groove kinda shifts back and forth a little on me right at the beginning, but it settles in more once the vocal pieces kick in I think.

Didn't download the album but listened to the MCing Is Believing track on the Myspace. I also listened to the first song on the main website.

Personally, I really liked the MCing track. Adding Von Pea to the mix really spiced it up. Your flows are similar to some of the groups one of my friends likes so I sent him a message with the links to get the word out. I'll definitely be on the look out for some of your other singles so that I can gain a wider perspective. Sounds good, though...keep it up.

I listened to the whole mix (straight through at 2:15AM)...

Some of them sound a little plain, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. I get fatigued listening to some them (mostly the ones near the beginning...they get better after the 5 min mark). I'd need to hear the chorus/bridge on them but I could definitely see some good concepts working on these. (Not that I'm an emcee or anything like that.) The one track at around the 6:30 mark got my head bobbin'. Definitely feeling that one and the one after it. Started fallin' off at the 13 minute mark

To sum it up...
The first 5 minutes seemed plain to me in the sense that there wasn't enough variation to keep my attention but afterwards all of the beats were nice. I'd like to hear some emcees over these to see what they'd do with them. You have some dope beats now all we need are some dope rhymes. Heh. Sorry for ramblin'...it's late.

Check out "Back on the Scene" unmixed due to cats ripping it n sharing but you'll get the point... Malaki the Most Hi was lead off batter on the classic Binary Star posse cut "KGB" with One Be Lo, Juice and Elzhi of Sum Village... You may of heard my other joints elsewhere...
