the beat itself is a tough one for me though, would like to hear more playing with the samples... drum sounds are dope though, great quality there but it's real tough to get into this one. i would like to hear the drums "groove" with the samples more personally... programm the drums to follow those melodies as they change and whatnt.

would like to hear a more dynamic mix of this. try filtering out specific parts of the sample and panning them in different places..
are these live instruments or samples? i saw a mention of live instrumentation a post below me. whatever the case, there are a lot of lush sounds in here... especially that guitar, some delay/spring reverb on there would be sweet.
anyho, a louder mix and more prominance of the seperate elements wuld make this candy.

I'm in the process of redoing this beat cause I accidentally deleted the project file for it. I was originally just gonna say 'fuck it' and roll with the version I got but it seems like folks are feelin this one, so I figured I'd do it right.
Only drum samples. I play guitar and used my friends DGX505 keyboard, along with some GarageBand instruments (their JamPacks have some pretty dope sounds).
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not very good with the stereo placement of my sounds so I'll definitely work on that in the new version.

After about four listens it still sounds very incomplete, like instruments are missing. I think the vocals hit some notes that don't really sound good without some kind of harmonizing instrumentation. The bass doesn't complement the notes in the vocals most the time. Honestly, overall, the music just doesn't really fit the vocals and they seem to clash more than they flow together. In such a sparse acoustic canvas, I find the high sounds (cymbals, chimes, hi-hat) kinda distracting.
Not tryin to disect and hate, just tryin to give informative feedback.

I think you could add a few more layers to it, a few more changups to make it more dynamic, maybe throw in some different takes on the keys, but as-is it's got a cool groove. Maybe bring the drums up a little bit in the mix too. Liked the keys that started around 2:50.

cant say the beat tape is any different
that intro joint gets a little bit monotonous by itself after a while, kept waitin for some vocal snippet or some vibraphone t hit but it doesnt.. the switch to the next track was kinda rough...
3rd track is dope, those strings give some good tension with that vocal. my favorite of the tape thus far.

Airing Highspeed - I could listen to this on repeat forever an not get tired of it. I think it could use more. I don't know more of what...just more.
Could it be Better - Sounds really good but leaves me wanting it to be more. I think a better flute sound would help. I've been lookin for flutes recently too.

Only got time for a few so I just grabbed at random:
True Fire - Liked the groove of the track. Thought everything sounded good except for the back/forth left/right vox. That REALLY annoyed me. Maybe cause I'm using headphones it's more pronounced...not sure.
Old Time Jazz - thought this one was dope. Nice swing to it.
Feel It - cool. Smooth. Like the horns. Maybe a louder bass in there.
check out "I'll Be There" its a song about my 5 year old nephew who was hit by a drunk driver and has been in rehabilitation for the last 10 months.. the format is a past, present, future, scheme in the 3 verses.
the track is kinda raw and the girls vocals (his sister) arent on final version but hope cats can feel it.
