So after about 2 years of making music together, one of my bandmates (bassist) has called it quits...not a personal beef, but it's just a "what direction is this music taking me"/girlfriend thing.

We are in the middle of recording our full length on a small local label, and have been landing some higher profile gigs (opened for a few small nationals), so we have no intention of calling it quits.

So the move is...finding the replacement.

A daunting task if there ever was one.

So I'm reaching out to the musicians/band members on this forum for any tips or insight as to how to best execute such a change. Past stories, examples, and the like would be appreciated as well.
