"At what stage of production does a sample get cleared?"


          

-Do you clear it as soon as it's a done file sitting in your MPC or HD?
-Do you/the artist cleat it after it's purchased?
-Do you give the artist your contacts for sample info?

Of course if a sample's a.)flipped hard or b.)obscure then you don't necessarily have to, but I got tracks here and there that are pretty obvious loops.

In the event that there's a lawsuit, the artist/compny, and not the producer will assume all responsibility for settling the copyright infringement and the producer will not be liable. If the name of an artist sampled for the beat is required, the artist will consult the producer and will get the information concerning the origin of the samples utilized in the song.
