I never really got what was so scary. Yeah I admit it was pretty creepy. The voice coming out of the girl, how her face got worse and worse. But I dunno, this movie ain't really scare the hell out of me like I expected it to.

I own it, but I may need to watch it again just to make sure, as for now though

I guess maybe you have to really believe in demons and possessions to find this scary?
I just thought it was weak and lame, and most definitely not worth the hype.
Creepy? Maybe.
Gross? Okay.
But not a good movie overall, and not scary.

EDIT - forgot to give it a score.
For impact/importance, a 5. Can't argue with that.
For quality/enjoyment, a 2.5. Not very good. I gave it a C+.

but in general I don't like B/W movies so that was a big minus right off the bat.

I'm sure it was groundbreaking and important, but watching it now leads me to the conclusion that it's not that great.

EDIT - again, I forgot to score it. I guess it's another 5 for impact/importance, but for overall enjoyment I'ma give it a 3.

I love in the beginning when the brother and sister and visiting the cemetery, and the brother utters the lines "They're coming to get you Barbara . . ." The way he said it was creepy as hell. Plus, the movie is free to download so you can't beat that.

The build up was great, and the way she kept getting fucked over until she couldn't take it anymore was fantastic!

You feel like its not really a horror movie, that is until the movie gets close to the end and the shit hits the fan. I dunno if I would want to own it, but its well worth the rent to horror and non horror fans

How can you not like the evil dead? Not to many movies can pull off demons the way this did. The trees raping that girl, the "dead before dawn" chants. This movie creeped the hell out of me as a kid. Great book, great movie. Very cool story, pretty scary in parts (though I haven't seen it in years).

EDIT - my rating would probably be a 4 or maybe even a 4.5.

It's the Black Exorcist movie that studios wouldn't let be released...but I just saw it on DVD.

I got it based on what the cats on these boards were saying and other horror web sites. It did feel like a regular ass movie about a man looking for a woman in his life. If I didn't know this was going to be a horror movie I would have left it at that. The end comes around when the man finally starts finding out about the girl and then BAM! You ain't trying to meet a woman for a long time after this one is over.

what kills me though, is when the old ass zombie comes out of the ground it takes that nigga 5 minutes to come up and brush all the dirt and worms off of him. Whycome that woman stood there that long just screaming? I mean the zombie started to shave, got a shape up, tucked in its shirt and brushed its hair and this hoe still screaming. Still a great movie though

Creepy as fuck. I saw it with my dad when I was a kid (I was probably only 8 or 9 - he let me watch anything, much to my mom's chagrin).

It was real fucking scary to me at the time. The idea of a guy carrying around his evil deformed twin in a basket is fucked up.

I want to see this again to give it a better assessment.

I remember when my parents rented this for me when I was around 8 or 9..when the movie got to the scene in the bathroom, my mother cut it off and gave it to one of my older cousins to watch. I ended up watching the second one before ever seeing this one fully through, not until years later. 5/5
